Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."

A current temperature of 69/70° that feels like 69/70° prevails. We did get some precipitation yesterday, so Mary is off watering duty in the gardens and lawns of the vast PE for today.

Speaking of my apprentice trainspotter, she dutifully recorded the southbound passage of the train with its cars on the RSTL yesterday morning, but neglected to tell her mentor where. So I can only note the northbound passage of locomotives 2019 and 2057 at 3:55 p.m. yesterday afternoon as they deadheaded sans cars, before the holiday weekend.

Sports news brings sadness from Bean-town, as my beloved Red Sox fell to the Blue Jays in Toronto, 5 - 6, to go to 29 - 19 in the A.L. East, to maintain a hold on 1st place.

The Cubs after two rain delays, defeated the Phillies, 6 - 2 to move to 18 games over .500 @ 32 - 14, as they maintain a firm hold on 1st place in the N.L. Central. Kris Bryant not only went yard, he hit the ball out of the yard, launching a monster drive that cleared the stands and landed on the street. He was joined by David Ross and Jorge Soler for a total of three homers. Jon Lester pitched well into the 7th to go to 5 - 3. as the Cubs won.

The Tigers played the As in Oakland late last night as the Tigers won, 4 - 1. They still reside in 4th place in the A.L. Central, with a record of 24 - 23. The Tigers' A level farm squad, The Whitecaps AKA The Caps, finally got their game in, as they beat Mary's sentimental favorite team, the Dayton Dragons, 3 - 2. The Caps are now @ 25 - 19, good enough to move up to 2nd place in the M.W.L. East.

As the day unfolded, we walked a lot, some with STWD, shopped a little, and had dinner at the Double Deuce, 22 Below, before walking home. I got tired quickly as my recovery continues, so I watched some TV in the La-Z-Boy, before moving to the Media Room and then bed, thereby relinquishing the La-Z-Boy to Mary and her various crafts. She watched Airforce One from there.

Today a walk to the GHFM with STWD and then little else after we pickup the newspaper. I can use the rest. Too much walking yesterday. We may go to Rib-Fest at the Post, but as vegans, we won't be eating any ribs, just sides.

The sun will rise at 6:10 a.m. and set at 9:14 p.m. Ciao.
