Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:00 a.m. in "The City."

Weather: A current temperature of 44° will lead to a cloudy high of 49°. We are planning to attend a performance of Little Shop of Horrors tonight at the high school, so we had best dress accordingly. Since the sunset is at 9:01 p.m. tonight, we should be fine driving. That sunset follows the sunrise at 6:21 a.m. this morning, Gosh, do we sound like retired people or what?

Once again, we plan to walk to the GHFM (Grand Haven Farmer;s Market) with STWD. That is if the rain has stopped by then. If not, I have no desire to go out and walk any farther than necessary, which I am fairly certain with which the intrepid one will readily agree.

Trainspotting: No trains to spot yesterday on the RSTL (Reality Scale Train Layout).

Sports: The Cubs righted the ship against the Pirates with a 9 - 4 win. That leaves the Cubs a full 8 games ahead of those same 2nd place Pirates in the N L East. The Tigers dropped another one to the Orioles, 0 - 1.

The Tigers are now a dismal 15 - 20 in the A L Central, 8.5 games behind that other team from Chicago. I don't have any facts to back up the following statement/questions, but will Brad Ausmus be keeping his job as the Tigers manager much longer? Yes, the previous Tigers GM traded away or allowed to leave through free agency many of the Tigers best pitchers and position players, but the field manager always gets the ax when things go wrong. Will the owner still support Ausmus if the team continues to slide?

Why is that former Tigers' GM is now the Team President of my beloved Red Sox? What did he know when he chose not to sign a new contract in Detroit? Speaking of the beloved, they lost yesterday to the 15 - 22 Houston Astros by a score of 6 - 7. The Sox have the same number of wins as the Orioles in the A L East, with 22, but the Sox have two more losses at 14. That means that they are firmly in 2nd place with a record of 22 - 14.

The Caps lost once again to the Ft. Wayne, IN TinCaps, 0 - 4. The Caps are now even with the league at 16 - 16 in the M W East,

Not much else is happening. Maybe a morning safari, pick up the Grand Haven Tribune, some reading and crossword solving and that musical at the high school tonight. I like being able to watch and enjoy instead of building the sets and directing the technical side of the production. It feels good to be retired. Ciao.
