Good mobning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 5:00 a.m. in "The City."

Yesterday was a great day for walking. In fact, Mary and I both completed over five miles on our
"Virtual" trip from St. Ignace to GH. Mary took a few more steps than I, but for me, nearly 11,000 steps was a lot of walking.

We both took the mornig Safari with STWD. Our mornig walk took us to the local cable TV office to exchange the old cable box for new. I am almost able to get all of the functions working. Maybe today.

We made it to the chiropractor afterwards and then I came home as Mary stopped at her beautician on the corner. I spent some time in the gardens and lawns of the PE. Lunch was the last of the gluten beest that Mary made a few days ago, accompanied by baked potatoes, both smothered in Mary's best vegan gravy to date. That's all gone now. : - ( This was the maiden voyage for Mary's new slicer, and it worked as expected. : - )

Later, we walked to the local Papa Murphy's™ to get our new Tuesday dinner fare, a gourmet vegetarian pizza with no cheese and tons of vegetables. Along with the walk that we took to JWS later, gave us the requisite steps/miles. Mary later augmented that pizza while we were watching NCIS on TV. A little nutritional yeast, some red pepper flakes, some oregano, and it was delicious. At the table, we added the last of our Chicago-Style giardiniera. Like the gravy, we now have none of that left either.. : - (

We loved NCIS, however the "To be continued" at the end is always a sight we don't like to see. NCIS NOLA was also quite good.

Sports news yesterday was another mixed bag. The boys in blue maintained their lead over the Pirates in the NL Central, 19 - 6, with a convincing win over the 2nd place Pirates, 7 - 1. The Pirates are now a full 5.0 games back. Jake Arrieta pitching for the Cubs, is now 6 - 0 on the season, a feat not seen since Mordecai "Three Fingers" Brown in 1908. The brooms will be out tonight in "Steel Town", as the Cubs go for the sweep.

The Tigers didn't fare so well, as the fell to that other team from Chicago 3 - 7. That leaves the Tigers in 2nd place, 4.0 games behind that other team in the AL Central. My beloved Red Sox fell to the Indians 1 - 4, and also fell from 1st place in the AL East with a record of 15 - 11, to fall 0.5 games behind the Orioles. The Caps got a win over the Beloit Snappers 6 - 3. The Caps are now even with the league at 11 - 11, but in 6th place. Ouch!

We have a current temperature of 48° that feels like 40°. The NWS is forecasting a high for today of 51°, with an 80% chance of rain and windy conditions. In fact, it is raining right now. By Mother's Day, the temperatures here in "The City" are expected to reach the lower 60s, while in GR to the east, the 70s are likely. Amazing what 40 miles away from the "Big Lake" can do for temperatures, but also for snow and precipitation. Here in West MI, a trip to Holland on Monday revealed that their tulips are in full bloom and ready for Tulip Time™. Here in GH, 26 miles to the north, Mary's tulips are just now blooming along with many others in "The City."

Today, the weather will make walking more of a challenge. Rain and wind are not high on our list of preferred weather. Come to think of it, they are not high on the intrepid one's list either. We will make it to the history book discussion downtown at 3:00 p.m.

Other than finally getting to that prototype for my chair pillow, we have no other plans for today. There should be trains to spot, more steps to walk, a newspaper to read, and guitars to play. I do get to enjoy that part of the day, sometimes around now.

The sun will rise at 6:35 a.m. and set at 8:5- p.m. Ciao.
