Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just passing 5:00 a.m. in "The City." We've hit our overnight low of 53° under a waning gibbous moon visible outside the WW. Later today after the sun rises at 6:10 a.m., we are expecting mostly sunny skies with a side of fireworks.
Here in MI, the law allows some seriously large fireworks devices for home use. STWD will be getting her Thundershirt™ on by early today. It is likely that she will need it until Sunday. I just heard the first explosion at about 4:15 a.m.
Yesterday, I got started on those wind chimes. I'm not satisfied, so far. More thinking is required on the best way to route the strings. One thing about a man-cave, you can ruminate for hours and never have to be bothered by the outside world.
We did go walkabout yesterday with STWD and without. The city is doing some construction on the municipal complex The noises that accompany that work sound like fireworks to STWD.
In sports yesterday, the boys in blue swept the Mets, with a 6 - 1 victory. They now have a record of 42 - 35, which is only good enough for 3rd place. Next up, the Marlins. The Tigers are in a serious world of hurt. They were swept by the Pirates with a 4 - 8 loss, to become a .500 team with a record of 39 - 39, also good enough for 3rd place. My beloved Red Sox are so hot and cold. With a record of 37 - 44, they are in 5th place. Yesterday they beat the Blue Jays, handily, 12 - 6. The Caps also won, with a 5 - 2 defeat of the Great Lakes Loons.
Today, more time with the girls, more reading, and more time in the man-cave. I still have to read yesterday's newspaper too, after picking up today's paper during the morning walk.
That looks like enough for now. The sun will set at 9:27 p.m. Ciao.
