Good morning GH. It is passing 5:00 a.m. in "The City", so I can't really say good evening to the majority of my readers anymore.
In sports, I tried to stay awake for the game between the boys in blue and the Cardinals, but alas, I didn't make it. No matter, the rain delay only delayed the inevitable, as the boys lost to the Cardinals, 0 - 6. The Tigers found their offense for at least one day, as they hammered the Mariners, 12 - 5. My beloved Red Sox had the day off. The Caps slipped by the Captains of Lake County, 3 - 2.
The weather yesterday was muggy. STWD and I took the morning walk solo, as Mary slaved over an indexing job that I've heard includes end notes, the bane of her existence. Would that that was all that vexed people. Mostly I did nothing until later in the day. I did harvest the kale and some green beans which I also cooked, but that was about it. The girls and I played together too.
Trainspotting returns. The southbound run of our little slice of the railroading world rolled by about 10:45 a.m. The regular cast of locomotives towing 10 CHCs and two DBTCs. The same pair of locomotives, in reverse order, rolled back north at 2:59 P.M., towing 15 of the DBTCs, this time heavily laden, and two box cars.
We finally made it out to the grocery store later in the afternoon. I returned the cans. We forgot the shopping list, but still managed to get everything that we needed and nothing that we didn't, unless you count the blueberries that were on sale. I wanted a change in the morning with my yogurt and cereal.
Returning once again to the weather, we had some T-storms last night. I guess that they were related to the storms that delayed the baseball game in Chicago. Today, the boys and the Cardinals have a double header, with the early game a make up for a previously rained out game, That's at 1:20 p.m. Tonight, the second game is at 8:05. In days of yore, they would have been back to back games. Sigh.
Today, I plan to do very little. Mary will continue on the bane of her existence, STWD will sleep after her morning walk, and that's enough for me. I may make some applesauce, but that is about the extent of my ambition.
The sun will rise at 6:12 a.m., on a cloudy morning with the chance of rain 75% at 9:00 a.m. The balance of the day should be cloudy, but dry.
I am certain that I can find something to do if I so desire. The sun will set at 9:26 p.m., and that will put an end to the day. Ciao.
