Good morning or good evening, wherever  you may be. It is just past 2:30 a.m. in "The City." A current temperature of 39° will steadily climb to today's high of 41° under mostly cloudy skies. Saturday, we'll add a 60% chance of rain to that forecast. Sunday, mostly cloudy skies and high of 35° look to be the expectations.

Christmas day was a relaxing time for all. I gave Mary our latest activity for the close of this year and all of 2015. I read somewhere about an activity that suggests that a person write a daily "Why I'm thankful" idea onto a small slip of paper which you then place  into a jar each day That's a good way to remind oneself  that we all have a things about which we should be thankful in our lives each day. Will it work? I don't know, but we are going to try it. From Mary, I got a card that reminds me how lucky I am each day. All good as far as I am concerned.

Later after Mary, Sugar the Weather Dog, and I took our morning walk, we returned for breakfast. Then I worked on that project for Mary for a while. I stopped when the project got to the most difficult part. I'll pick it up again today. I then sat down to read my book and await Christmas dinner.

In spite of her protestations to the contrary, I liked Mary's efforts. Biscuits, gravy, and a small loaf that I really like, were paired with a mixture of winter squash and carrots. They were delightful. In addition, I got one of my favorite side dishes, jellied cranberry sauce. Plus, there was eggnog with rum for me. I say for me, because Mary can take or leave eggnog.

After dinner, we sat down to watch Love Actually, one of our favorite holiday movies. That was followed by a sitcom and the drama, Elementary, to top off the evening. We'd never seen either. Naturally, I was ready for bed after that great dinner, the rum laced eggnog, and the movie and TV viewing, so that's where I headed. Mary stayed up to do some knitting on her afghan.

Today, I'll get back to that project after I take the morning walk with the intrepid weather dog to pick up the newspaper. Since the weather is supposed to be warm enough, I anticipate that Mary will accompany us. We did well yesterday, but after about 3/4 of a mile, we headed home due to a fierce headwind. We may face similar windy conditions today. If so, today's walk may also be limited.

I'll settle down to work while I do some laundry after we get home. Mary will continue to work in her office. After the laundry is done, I may transfer my efforts to my office desk, so that I am close to Mary's work space as I work. That would be more convenient for both of us. But as lazy as I am, I may just stay put downstairs.

The sun will rise, and then set at 8:13 a.m. and 5:13 p.m. respectively. Ciao.
