Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. At just a tad past 4:30 a.m., I should be in bed, and I will be soon. Actually, I'd have been there already, but I had to wait to recognize that the WiFi modem needed to be unplugged and rebooted. My bad I guess. Not so fast, the internet just blipped again, and that had nothing to do with me.

The sun will be rising at 8:12 a.m. today, and then we will have cloudy skies and temperatures that never get out of the mid thirty degree range. At least there won't be any precipitation.

We had a good day yesterday. I made a variation on my squash and kale soup that became squash and spinach soup, as those were the greens that we had in the freezer. By the time I was done, I had made about six or seven quarts of soup. We dropped off a jar of soup with Sally at the Post so that she could enjoy my efforts. We said we'd return, but we didn't' make it. Sometimes the best laid plans etc., etc.

We started out the morning walking with Sugar the Weather Dog to get the newspaper. We needed to hurry back for the chat session that Mary had at noon, but it turned out that her session isn't until 2:00 p.m. on Fridays. Oh well, that kept her out of the kitchen as I worked. She used her time well, and so each of us was productive.

I did get in some time with the girls, but my throat was a bit scratchy, so I had to stop. I suppose I could have kept playing, but I like to be able to sing along. Unlike some players, I view the guitar as an accompaniment instrument rather than as a solo instrument. My playing is getting better every day, but some days are better than others.

Today we have to go to the eye doctor in Spring Lake to get a recheck on Mary's eyes. She still has some concerns, but the problems are ebbing. I wouldn't have to go, but if the doctor needs to dilate her pupils, she can't drive home.

Later in the afternoon, I'm off to the Irish Jam session at the library. That's always fun, and should be good this close to the holidays. I like the experience of playing with other musicians who bring all sorts of instruments.

We may or may not make it to the Post for Karaoke Night. Much depends on how I feel after playing all afternoon.

That looks like enough for me. The sun will set at 5:12 p.m. and then the darkness will envelop GH like a blanket. We made it out last night to the favorite watering hole after stopping at the Post as I noted earlier. Then we came home instead of stopping back at the Post. So, that may dictate tonight's activities. Ciao.
