Good morning GH. At just past 7:30 a.m. in "The City", our current temperature is 32°, although due to the wind, it feels like 23°. Tomorrow, our high is not expected to get past 28° and on Tuesday, we'll peak at 23°. Each day has a prediction for a 40% chance of precipitation and partly cloudy skies. We have been enjoying the relatively balmy temperatures in the upper thirties and lower forties. I guess that the real winter has finally arrived.
Yesterday, after Mary suggested that we get going on the morning walk early, to avoid the predicted rain. It was very windy and foggy as we walked. Sugar was happily sniffing every blade of grass, shrub, and pole in our fair city. When we got back, Mary crafted lunch and then I got to work. I finished that project for Mary. It was tough sledding, to borrow a winter analogy. Today I'll have to help with the final output. In addition, I finished my latest book and now I have another to read before it has to go back to the library. Otherwise, I did as little as possible.
In the evening, we played two rousing games of Scrabble™, which Mary won. She can be ruthless. I know, we sure know how to party. Staying in out of the weather when you can is preferable when you get older. Snow sports and ice are for the younger people. Wow, for a second there I sounded like my parents.
Today, I'll start out with a morning walk with Sugar the Weather Dog. Since the temperature has dropped, it will be a bit abbreviated. Since we don't need to go to the newspaper box, we can go in any direction that Sugar chooses. I let her take the lead, as she has a "Nose" for adventure. Mostly, I am along for the ride.
Once we are back, I'll help Mary when necessary and read when I can. Sugar will sleep on her couch. In between, I may get in some time with the girls. That looks like a full day to me.
The sun will rise at 8:16 a.m. and set at 5:17 p.m. Now that we are past the shortest day of the year, spring, which occurs on February 20, 2015, at least by the schedule posted for my beloved Red Sox pitchers and catchers to report, is almost here. The position players report on February 24, 2015. The first full workout is scheduled for February 25th. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel from the dugout to the field. Ciao.
