Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:00 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 57º under clear skies. Today's high temperature is forecast to reach 77º under partly-cloudy skies. Tonight's low is forecast to be 58º. The only chance for significant precipitation is next Monday's forecast with a 40% chance for T-storms. It looks like I'll be watering every other day for the foreseeable future. However, I did harvest more cucumbers and see that one of the tomatoes in our vast vegetable gardens is beginning to turn red, so it won't be long until fresh tomatoes will grace our meals.

I espied the northbound run of MMRR locomotives 2019 and 2025 yesterday. I heard their southbound passage on Tuesday, but I didn't get up to look.

Yesterday's run included those locomotives towing 23 CHCs. one RTC, one GTC, three DWTCs, with one of those showing a black-painted undercarriage, and 27 DBTCs.

I got an email from Adam the other day regarding a very short railroad that has not been in operation since 2010. It was the Illinois Northern RR that originally serviced the huge International Harvester McCormick Works in Blue Island, IL. The railroad was sold several times over the years and its final owner, the BNSF, the successor to the Sante Fe RR, abandoned it in 2010.

Our usual plans to get things done yesterday got changed on the fly as I spent time in the kitchen making a Hammish and peeling potatoes for our dinner. Both turned out great.

We didn't get to Ginger's grooming, but we hope to do that today, or not. If our ambition level doesn't improve, Ginger's appearance won't change.

We watched another episode of Downton Abbey yesterday before dinner and some TV news. However, I grew tired and came up to our media room and watched some inane TV until I decided that I could listen to the Cubs' game on the radio if I went to bed.

I listened as the 10 - 2 Cubs and RHP Yu Darvish took a game from the 3 - 10 Royals 6 - 1, for the Cubs' sixth win in a row. Tonight's game against those same Royals features 2 - 0 RHP Tyler Chatwood for the game in Kansas City beginning @ 7:07 p.m. EDT.

My beloved 4 - 8 Red Sox took one from the 5 - 7 Tampa Bay Rays last night, 5 - 0 to end the Sox' losing streak. The Sos return to Fenway Park for a game tonight @ 7:30 p.m. EDT, when the Toronto Blue Jays come to town.

The 5 - 5 Tigers game versus the 2 - 3 Cardinals was postponed last night due to the fact that several of the players for the Cardinals tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. No other information is available as of this writing.

Today, I have to do that aforementioned watering, finish a crossword puzzle, play with the girls, and that's about it. Mary will do her own voodoo.

A side note, there was no blog yesterday as I slept in while Mary couldn't sleep and went to our media room and watched Contagion until she fell asleep. Ginger and I slept blissfully on.  Ciao.

P.S. Google has seen fit to change the format for blogging to a "User-friendly" version. As Mr. Horse intoned in the cartoon series, Ren and Stimpy, "Well sir, I don't like it!" Ciao.
