Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 5:30 a.m. in "The City."
We have a current temperature of 73º under clear skies. Today's high temperature is forecast to reach 82º under partly-sunny skies. That's
5º warmer than yesterday.
That's nearly a repeat of yesterday's forecast. Tonight's low is forecast to be 71º. That's also a near repeat. There is a 60% chance for some T-storms tomorrow morning, but I never count on that here in GH.
A new veggie update! Yesterday I saw that four of the tomatoes in our vast vegetable gardens are turning red. I anticipate more to come and that a fresh tomato will grace our table as early as today! Mary has plans for the first one I harvest, but I told her that I must have pictures before, during, and after cutting it open, not to mention a taste test.
The sun will rise later @ 6:44 a.m. EDT and set @ 8:55 p.m. EDT.
Speaking of the vast gardens, I should water this evening in spite of that forecast for tomorrow.
Yesterday was rather mundane her at the manse. No trains, no trips, not much was happening.
We watched an entire episode of Downton Abbey and started another.
Which brings us to baseball.
No change in the status of the 10 - 3 Cubs. They are canceled through today. The Cubs travel to Cleveland for a Tuesday night game @ 7:30 p.m. against the 9 - 7 Indians. No Cubs' pitcher has been announced for that game. The Cubs were scheduled to play tonight for a nationally televised game and I had plahs. Sigh.
The 7 - 5 Tigers came out swinging in their game against the 3 - 12 Pirates yesterday afternoon, as four of the first five batters hit home runs and the Tigers went on to win 11 - 5 over the Pirates. This afternoon's game versus the Pirates begins @ 1:35 p.m. EDT when 1 - 0 RHP Spencer Turnbull gets the call.
My beloved 5 - 9 Red Sox once again experienced slumber in the lumber, as they couldn't muster much of an offense for losing pitcher 0 - 1 Marcus Walden who throws from the right side They lost to the visiting 5 - 7 Toronto Blues Jays., 1 - 2. Today's game features 1 - 1 RHP Nathan Eovaldi for the Sox starting @ 1:35 p.m. EDT. It is just not a good year for any team in baseball. I'm a die-hard baseball fan, but I'm ready to pull the plug on this season that never should have been.
Today, I have Mary scheduled to put on her barber's hat after lunch and give me my thrice weekly buzz cut that's about two weeks overdue.
I didn't accomplish much yesterday unless you count grating some cabbage, an apple, and a carrot for Coleslaw. Mary was more productive, creating the dressing for that Coleslaw and also making her signature recipe barbecue sauce for dinner, I had A-1™ sauce on my vegan Italian sausage, to paraphrase Leslie Nielsen from the movie Airplane!

Today, I hope to increase my ambition quotient to allow me to do some coloring, more playing with the girls, both in my studio, and perhaps give Ginger a pawdicure. That would necessitate another round of dental treats for the fur-children.
Mary will spend some time in the kitchen trying out a new recipe from the internet for tacos that will incorporate our fresh tomato. I'd like cheezy grits for breakfast, but I'm open to using up things being saved in the refrigerator. Ciao.
