Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just after 3:30 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 61º under cloudy skies. With a wind-speed of 7 mph, it feels like 61º. My DTWS shows 62º.

There is a Beach Hazard Statement in effect until 11:00 p.m. tonight. People should remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions and should not venture out on piers.

In addition, there is a Small Craft Advisory in effect for that same time period.

We have only a 10% chance for additional precipitation today, so once again, I'll be watering. No rain nor storms are in the forecast until at least Sunday.

The sun will rise @ 6:39 a.m. and set later @ 9:01 p.m.

We made it to the Lakeforest Cemetery yesterday afternoon with the fur-children. It felt good to be able to go walkabout with very few other live homo-sapiens about. However, we did encounter some other fauna as we were departing. As Mary witnessed the other day when she was soloing with Ginger, we encountered several members of the Cervidae species, what most people refer to as deer.

This time, Mary had taken her trusty Olympus camera along and as we were leaving, she was able to get many shots of the deer as they grazed amongst the tombstones, seemingly unconcerned with the few homo-sapiens that they met. Our own fur-child of the species, Canis familiaris, Ginger, was very aware of the deer this trip. STWD didn't seem to notice, or if she did, she didn't care, as she was tired from the long walk. At any rate, here are some pix of those deer.

The deer were curious but nonplussed by our presence. The people in the white car had a curious child along for the ride.
Same deer, sans other automobiles.
There were a total of four deer that we observed.
The Lakeforest Cemetery is a great place to graze if you are deer.
Indeed!
We drove home to the manse by way of the Grand Haven City Beach and the Grand Haven State Park. The cool air temperatures and the cloudy conditions coupled with the fact that the tourists who were in town for the canceled Coast Guard Festival had mostly left town, made the beaches almost empty. Well, almost.

Before we left home, I had taken my own Olympus DSLR camera to the vast gardens to snap some pix of our flora.

We have corralled our Black-Eyed Susans in a pot to keep them from spreading far and wide.
Basil, we've got basil!
The volunteer tomato is producing fruit. I believe that they are of the species, Solanaceae, and the variety is cerasiforme.
Some of the fruit on the indeterminant tomatoes I've been watering this year. They are often called slicing tomatoes.
Just because I had my camera set on close-up mode, I took this shot of a cucumber blossom.
Amongst the leaves are several sweet peppers. They have a long way to "grow."
I made some vegan Italian sausages before we went walkabout and one of those became part of the pizza that Mary made for dinner. She let her own secret-recipe sauce simmer for about two hours or so and I am certain that I like it better than the store-bought commercial variety. Once again, she also made her own crust and when it was ready, she slathered it with her sauce, added some sliced black olives, some sliced garlic, and some vegan cheese. We finished eating as we were watching another episode of Downton Abbey.

By the by, the rice and soy curl casserole we ate for brunch with a side-salad was just so-so. The casserole needs something to make it a keeper. We just have to determine what that something

In baseball news, the 8 - 2 Cubs defeated the 3 - 8 Royals @ Wrigley Field last night, 2 - 0, as the win went to 2 - 0 RHP Alec Mills who is filling the spot n the rotation caused by the injury to Jose Quintana, with relief help from RHP Rowan Wick and an insurance home run off the bat of Kris Bryant. Tonight's game has RHP, 1 - 1 Kyle Hendricks, going for the Cubs @ 8:15 p.m. EDT.

Both my beloved Red Sox and the Tigers had the day off.

Today, some indoor chores, that watering, some reading, some grits for brunch, and perhaps, a bath for Ginger. We will make that a game-time decision. Ciao.
