Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just after 6:00 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 67º under rainy skies. With a wind-speed of 3 mph, it feels like 67º.

We are currently not experiencing any rain, but we have a 60% chance for additional precipitation through 12:00 p.m. this afternoon, so no watering will be required today.

The sun will rise @ 6:37 a.m. and set later @ 9:04p.m.

Starting today and continuing through Thursday, the high temperatures should be in the mid to upper 70º range with the possibility of  T-storms with a 60% probability tomorrow. I am most appreciative.

Yesterday, I found the time to make more vegan Italian meatballs that when combined later with Mary's secret pasta sauce made for delicious dinner as we watched our second episode of Downton Abbey.

I am still on the fence regarding the MLB™ 2020 season, as several teams are reporting positive Covid-19 test results for players, coaches, and clubhouse personnel. Will the season continue? Yes, I want it to because "Baseball is life!" But, that applies to my love of baseball, not to life itself. No one should be required to suffer and perhaps expire from the effects of the Covid-19 virus and its myriad complications in spite of what our POTUS and many in his calloused party might think and/or say.

That being said, I'll report on what has transpired in MLB™ so far in this truncates season.

The 6 - 2 Cubs eked out a 4 - 3 win over the 2 - 6 Pirates behind the efforts of 2 - 0 RHP Tyler Chatwood and his eleven strikeouts. Ian Happ, Javier Baez, and Kyle Schwatber all went yard for the Cubs, with Baez and Happ going back to back and Schwarber getting a two-run jack. The Cubs needed every run to survive and get the win. Today's game features 1 -  0 LHP Jon Lester for the Cubs at the "Friendly Confines" starting @ 2:20 p.m. EDT.

A side note, erstwhile closer RHP Craig Kimbrel, is still the closer and his fastball velocity is up to 97 mph, but he has to throw strikes more consistently if he plans to stay in the closer's role.

My beloved 3 - 6 Red Sox fell once again to those damn 6 - 1 Yankees, this time, 3 - 5. The Sox are not going to be very good this year. Sigh. Tonight's game begins in NYC @ 7:08 p.m. EDT when 0 - 0 RHP Austin Brice takes the mound for the Sox and manager Ron Roenicke. It's going to be a long short year.

Also as a side note, the Sox shut down last year's ace, LHP Eduardo Rodrigues, who had a 19 - 6 record in 2019. He has been diagnosed with myocarditis, that's an inflammation in the heart that may be related to his having contracted the Covid-19 virus earlier this summer. That says to me that even young baseball players, who are generally in great physical shape, can be badly affected by this dread disease. So, an abundance of caution is warranted by people of all ages and especially those with underlying health conditions who are of a certain age, as are the occupants of the manse.

The 5 - 3 Tigers. were rained out yesterday and they will play a doubleheader today starting @ 12:00 p.m. versus the 2 - 5 Reds in Comerica Park, weather permitting, as 0 - 0 RHP Rony Garcia gets the start followed by the second game at a time to be determined when 0 - 0 LHP Dan Norris takes the ball for Tigers' manager Ron Gardenhire.

Elsewhere, I opened my new tablet computer earlier this morning, but I am going to need Mary's assistance to get it up and running. I am not very computer literate and this one seems to have sensed that and is giving me fits. I am certain that Mary will go Duh! and solve the problems that I am experiencing.

That looks like enough for one day. Ciao.
