Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 3:00 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 58º under clear skies. Today's high temperature is forecast to reach 79º under sunny skies. Tonight's low is forecast to be 62º. Veggie update! Yesterday while I was watering, I saw that three of the tomatoes in our vast vegetable gardens are beginning to turn red, so it won't be long until fresh tomatoes will grace our table.

Our plans to get several things done yesterday got changed, as I spent time in the kitchen making vegan Italian meatballs and both assisting and watching as Mary made her secret recipe pasta sauce. My job is to pull out the various herbs spices for her use and then to put them back in the spice cabinet once she has put them into unknown quantities in the cookpot. I know most of the spices, but the exact quantities are her own secret. That's okay, as I don't much care for that type of cooking, I just enjoy the finished result, which was our dinner. Earlier, Mary soloed to that big-box nearly everything store to pick up a small grocery order while I worked.
We watched another two episodes of Downton Abbey before and during dinner, along with some TV news. Then I came up to the media room and learned that the  10 - 3 Cubs were the Thursday night baseball game on Fox. Sadly, by the time that 2 - 1 RHP Tyler Chatwood was pulled from the game after three innings, the Cubs had dug themselves such a huge hole, that the final score versus the 4 - 10 Royals was 2 - 13. Tonight, the Cubs are supposed to send 1 - 0 LHP Jon Lester to the mound in St. Louis against the 2 - 3 Cardinals, but there has been no official word from MLB™ as to whether that game will take place as scheduled @ 8:15 p.m. EDT due to the recent positive Covid-19 tests for some of the Cardinal's players.

My beloved 4 - 8 Red Sox return to Fenway Park for a game tonight @ 7:30 p.m. EDT, when the Toronto Blue Jays come to Boston for a game @ 7:30 p.m. EDT, as RHP, 0 - 2 Ryan Weber takes the hill.

The 5 - 5 Tigers are scheduled for a game in Pittsburgh against the 3 - 10 Pirates tonight @ 7:05 EDT. No pitcher has been announced for that game as of this writing.

I am dreading the point later this month when Blogger, hosted by their parent company, Google, officially converts to their new "User Friendly" format. I tried it yesterday and found it lacking. Maybe that's because I am so used to the old format, but once again, I have to quote Mr. Horse and say, "Well sir, I don't like it!" New and improved is not necessarily new and improved.

I am getting used to my new tablet and I like it more than the old one, as it has the latest software that is more compatible with the software being used by the various websites these days.

I played some with the girls yesterday and I was at best, mediocre. My singing was off and my playing was stilted. I guess I need to play more often.

Otherwise, we have to groom Ginger and maybe do some indoor chores. I'd also like to take the fur-children for a walkabout to the Lakeforest Cemetery if we have time. We shall see. Ciao.
