Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and the world. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 65º under clear skies. Today's high temperature is forecast to reach 85º, under partly-cloudy or partly-sunny skies. The Relative Humidity Index calls for the RHI to be a less sultry 66%.

There is no rain in the forecast and no indication of additional precipitation until at least next Thursday. I watered yesterday and it looks as though I'll be watering for many more days to come. Sigh.

Good news, the high temperatures will fall into the upper 70s after Saturday and the lows will be in the 50s.

According to the NWS, the barometric pressure is 30.01" and steady, while my DTWS shows 29.51" and also steady, indicating that no precipitation is in the offing.

The sun will rise this morning @ 6:49 a.m. EDT and it will set later this evening @ 8:49 p.m. EDT.

The now 11 - 3 Cubs returned to the field last night and trounced the now 10 - 9 Indians in Cleveland 7 - 2. RHP Kyle Hendricks, 3 - 0, recorded 5 strikeouts and the offense was clicking, as Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant, "Bryzzo" each hit solo home runs en route to the victory. The Cubs are beginning a series tonight, starting @ 7:15 p.m. EDT, when RHP Yu Darvish, 2 - 1 makes another start in yet another attempt to justify his huge salary.

My beloved 6 - 12 Red Sox put on their hitting shoes last night, yet another loss to the 11 - 8 Tampa Bay Rays ensued, 5 - 9. The Sox were able to marshal a real offense as J.D. Martinez hit a grand-slam home run, his second in as many games, but starting and losing RHP, Zack Godley, 0 - 2, couldn't hold off the Rays. This afternoon's game @ 4:30 p.m. EDT has LHP Kyle Hart making his first MLB™ start, as he pitches for the Sox.

Red Sox OF Andrew Benintendi fell running the bases in last night's game and injured his ribs. So, he was placed on the 10-day DL I think Benintendi is a great player, but you would think that by the time you go through Little League, the Minor Leagues, and make it to "The Show", you would be able to stay on your feet. Just saying.

The 9 - 7 Tigers, were pussycats last night with their loss to that 10 - 9 other team from Chicago. RHP Matthew Boyd, 0 -2, started for the Tigers, but the team let him down and the final score was 5 - 7. Boyd says he will get better. Where have we heard that before? Today's games against the St; Louis Cardinals have once again been postponed, as MLB does further testing for the Covid-19 virus that plagued the Cardinals last week. This was supposed to be a double-header to make up for the lost games from last week, but...

I finished the weekend crossword puzzle yesterday, but due to a power outage at the printing plant where the Grand Haven Tribune is printed, no Tuesday paper with two puzzles was printed. In our mailbox should be a Wednesday newspaper with three puzzles inside.

I made more vegan Italian meatballs in lieu of the vegan hamburgers I had planned to make. Those meatballs, Mary's favorite, became part of last night's delicious dinner of whole-wheat spaghetti topped with Mary's secret recipe sauce.

We ate as we finished another episode of Downton Abbey. We only watched one episode, as we also watched the first joint campaign appearance of the Biden/Harris Democratic ticket.

I jettisoned my latest large-print novel as it was becoming boring to read. As I've often opined, my time is precious and I won't waste it on a book I'm not enjoying.

Mary stayed up last night after I moved to the media-room for some inane TV.

Ciao.
