Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:30 a.m. in "The City."

STWD was once again an accurate forecaster. I got her out in the morning just after 9:00 a.m., but that was against her wishes. It had rained all night and she was not inclined to go out without a struggle. We did not take an extended safari. In the early afternoon, I was reading in my chair when the skies began to darken once again, and the intrepid one headed for her hide-e-hole. She was once again prescient as the skies yielded more showers, but no thunder just after we got her outside on her tether.

A current temperature of 69° under clear skies has allowed Sugar to rest comfortably in the bedroom. We are expecting a high today of 80° with 74%. Speaking of the humidity yesterday, Mary went to the library while Sugar and I went to The Bookman™ for the weekend edition of the Grand Haven Tribune.

When we started out, the sky was cloudy and it felt great. Then the sun came out from behind the clouds and BAM, instant discomfort. We are not expecting anymore T-storms until Tuesday when the NWS is forecasting a 60% chance of additional precipitation. If I play my cards right, I may be able to get by without watering until Thursday. We shall see.

Sports news yesterday was great if you are a Cardinals fan. But as a Die-Hard Cubs fan, I was disappointed to see the Cubs fall to the 2nd place Cardinals 4 - 8 in an NL Central game. A wild pitch in the top of the 8th with the bases full of Cardinals and the game tied opened the door through which the Red Birds marched to win the game. That still gives the Cubs a 13 game lead over the Cardinals with a record of 73 - 52. Thus ended the Cubs 11 game winning streak, The Cubs will face the Cardinals again tonight @ 8:08 p.m.

The Tigers eked out a win over the D'Backs 2 - 0 last night in Texas against the Rangers. The Tigers are still in 2nd place in the AL Central with a record of 62 - 54. But, they're six games ahead of that other team from Chicago, but alas, also five games behind the division-leading Indians, who won. The Tigers play the D'Backs again today @ 3:05 p..m.

My beloved Red Sox used home runs and solid relief pitching to defeat the D'Backs last night by a final score of 6 - 3. That still leaves the Sox in 2nd place, two games behind the AL East division leaders, the Blue Jays, who won. The 2nd place Orioles lost. The Sox play the D'Backs later today @ 1:00 p.m.

The Caps and the Lug Nuts completed their suspended Friday night game last evening. The Caps lost to the Lug Nuts 3- 5, before winning the nightcap 3 - 2. Unfortunately, that still leaves the Caps in 4th place, with an MW League East record of 22 - 24. The Caps and the Lug Nuts play this afternoon @ 1:00 p.m.

Other than the rain showers and a trip to the grocery store, not much was happening yesterday. I did manage to commandeer the kitchen to create a two-thumbs up potato salad while Mary worked on the index upstairs. Sugar was in her hide-e-hole, so I did not have the assistance of STSD. She did arrive for the actual lunch. She couldn't have shared the potato salad anyway because it contained onions, which are toxic to dogs, like grapes and raisins.

Today, I may go to the movies to watch Top Gun and enjoy my usual ginormous bucket of popcorn and an equally ginormous cherry cola, while Mary works on the index. Sorry that you don't have Top Gun on a screen in Chicago Adam, but I'll be thinking of you, though.

The sun will rise today @ 6:50 a.m. and set @ 8:47 p.m. Ciao.
