Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be in the Tri-Cities area or "The City." Our current temperature is 68° at just past 12:00 a.m., as we head down to an overnight low of of 64°. It looks like the next significant chance of showers is Thursday when the forecast calls for a 40% chance of scattered T-storms. Yesterday, we had bursts of heavy rain and some serious thunder claps, which meant that Sugar the Weather Dog wasn't eager to go out. She was eager to eat, but when queried as to whether she wanted to go out, she couldn't get upstairs fast enough. I guess that was her answer.
Today we expect partly cloudy skies and 69°. However, if the muggy feeling in the Weather Office is any indicator, it will be a regular August day.
We think we know what happened to the porch railing. We were downstairs and Sugar the Watch Dog went nuts. That uncontrollable great Dane came right up on our porch and the owner had to pull him sideways to get him down. When you think about it, the railing was probably pulled sideways with him the last time. We can't prove it, but the dog's human has no control, so the dog goes wherever he wants. Sugar doesn't like that dog and neither do I. Oh well, as long as the owner can't control the dog, I'll just have to hope that I have no more repairs to do.
I played the girls after highlighting yesterday. I sounded great, if I have to say so myself. Mary was hard at work, so I had my door closed and therefore, she had no comment.
In sports, the boys in blue were in a rain delay in the bottom of the 5th the last time I checked,.They were leading the Giants 2 - 0. If they try to restart this game, I"ll be surprised. My beloved Red Sox fell to the Angels, 3 - 4. The Tigers finished off the Rays, 8 - 6 in 11 innings. The Caps lost last evening to the Lug Nuts, 5 - 6.
No train traffic, yet.
That leaves today's activities. More repairs and painting to the porch and environs, editing for Mary, walking with the intrepid Weather Dog, and my day will be complete. Sugar and I will get the newspaper, so I"ll read that and do the crossword. The sun will rise at 6:52 a.m. and set earlier in the evening, at 8:40. Since the weather will continue on the humid side even with the low temperatures predicted, it probably is time to turn the A/C on once again. Ciao.
