Good morning GH. It is just past 12:45 AM in "The City" and the train has just passed. It is also 42 degrees as we head for a high of 52 with possible showers and windy conditions. Sugar the Weather Dog is sleeping soundly, so it isn't a forecast that is for the immediate future.
Friday turned out to be a better day. The electricians finished their work and Sugar and I got out for two walks. The second was not all that long, but the need to be here for other activities made that necessary. Sugar in her role as Sous Dog helped me to make my hopefully famous banana/apple sauce nut bread. I haven't tried it yet, but it smelled good and Sugar seemed to like cleaning up. Here's hoping that my efforts were successful. If so, then Mary's long distance advice on the substitution of the applesauce will have turned out fine. If not, I can blame my failure on her.
On Friday I got down to the post after going to the library, where I picked up a couple of new to me books. One I had on hold, and the other was a spur of the moment decision as I was leaving the building. The worst that can happen is that I don't like either and return them quickly. The best is that I have found another author to read. As I have noted in the past, I don't change genres much.
Today Sugar and I will walk in the AM and then I have to drive down to Holland to pick up Mary. She is returning from Chicago after a meeting and after my long stretch of fending for myself. Life is hard sometimes, but I made it through.
Otherwise not much is happening. We may need to stop at the grocery store on the way back from Holland, but that is a game time decision. We need a few things, but we do have some vegetables that need to be used/eaten before they go over. I was a bit lax on my salad eating while Mary was out of town. Mostly it is laziness on my part.
So there you have it, a short synopsis of my daily activities on Friday and a short description of our plans for Saturday. All is good. Sunrise is at 7:30 AM today. Sugar and I will get out sometime thereafter. I was gong to have scrambled eggs for breakfast, but now I think I'll try my bread. Ciao.
