Good early morning GH. It is just past 4:00 AM in "The City" and the forecast is for continued dark. We also have a a current temperature of 38 as we head for a high of 47 with a 30% chance of snow/rain. As long as it holds off until I get back from dropping Mary at the train station in Holland and after I take the morning walk with Sugar, I am okay with that.

On the other hand, it took until nearly two in the afternoon on Wednesday before I could get Sugar the Weather Dog out for her daily constitutional. By that time, I had started some great tasting potato/leek soup and Mary had done a lot of her work backlog. Prior to two PM, when I had asked Sugar if she wanted to go out, she hightailed it for upstairs to hide under Mary's desk. Finally at two PM, she had to get out or bust. We took a quick walk to the newspaper office and then we were quickly on the way back from our sojourn.

When we got here, my soup was just finishing and I placed some in a storage jar for us and some in a jar for Sally. Even Mary thought that the soup was good. As someone who is not a soup connoisseur, Mary's opinion is a valuable one. We also made arrangements with the electrician to complete their work on Friday. I just have too many commitments today. I have to drop Mary at the train, walk with Sugar, go to the orthopedist for my knees, and then do a little shopping at the local health food store. After that I want to stay in for the balance of the afternoon and evening. Tomorrow I have to stay around to be here for the electricians.

Before I got up this morning, I heard the train go by. I didn't see it, but I am certain that the horn happy engineer was not at the controls. If he had been, I'd still be hearing the horn wailing. Sunrise today is at 7:28 Am and Sunset at 5:29 PM. December 21 can't get here soon enough so that the days will begin to get longer again.

So not much else to report. I'll be fending for myself and Sugar for a couple of days, but I am certain that we will survive the ordeal. My knee will ache a bit on Saturday, but I should be ambulatory enough to walk with Sugar. Mary and I will be arising soon, so I'd best get back to the rack. Ciao.
