Good early morning GH. It is just past 1:30 AM in "The City" and the current temperature is 48 degrees as we head down to our nighttime low of 40 and up to our daytime high of 50. No rain is expected until Saturday when we are looking at an 80% chance of showers in the evening. Sunday is promising a 100% chance of T-storms. Sugar the Weather Dog will not be happy. Fortunately, the annual Light Night on Friday should happen under warmer, drier conditions as will the annual Holiday Shopping Center held at our own Community Center on Saturday. By Saturday night, all bets are off.

Thursday was such a beautiful day, that I chose to walk to and from the hospital for my knee treatments. One of the good things about the treatments is that my knees are locally anesthetized, so that for a few hours at least, there is no pain. Today, I will not be so fortunate. Still, the overall effect is very positive. I came home to do some additional work for my boss. I feel like Dagwood who works for Mr. Dithers under slave-like conditions. No rest, just deadlines.

Mary directed traffic on the palatial estate while I was gone, and now all of the leaves are history. The outdoor furniture is covered too, and the estate is ready for another winter. Mary has her own work to do, but she is being very protective of my not yet repaired shoulder. Later we journeyed to the post for a couple of drinks, and then off to get a pineapple pizza before heading for home. I stayed up for a while, and then as often happens, I was ready for bed. I sense a pattern here.

Tonight we may journey downtown to see the lights go on for the season, but that depends on my knees. If they feel okay, I am more than willing. If not, we'll see them at another time. Otherwise, more walking with Sugar, more reading, and more resting of the knees is in order. I may also get the kale harvested for my world famous squash/kale soup. That involves chopping, mincing, sauteing, and simmering, all things I am able to do in the kitchen. I can read a recipe with the best of them.

So before another train goes by, I'll sign off with that famous line from the that famous movie, "So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night," even though it is early morning.
