Good early morning GH. at 5:30 AM, the current temperature in "The City" is a brisk 36 degrees as we head for a high of 42. The winds are forecast to be much lighter today and for both Sugar the Weather Dog and me, that is good news. No precipitation in sight until Friday or Saturday.
Monday was mostly uneventful. I went to the car dealer in the afternoon only to find that the car really didn't need anything done until one year or 7,500 miles have elapsed. But that's okay, because I got my headlight answer and then on the way back, I stopped at an antique store and bought an older dictionary that looks great on the shelf. Plus, since it was one-half off, the cost was very reasonable. I was actually Christmas shopping, but this book couldn't wait to get on the shelf until then. I also got something that is unusual, a tool that was made in the USA. What a country.
Today we have a visit scheduled from the young lady who will be walking with Sugar during my convalescence from rotator cuff surgery. I could probably walk Sugar as time goes by, but since I couldn't deal with the fallout from our walks together, especially on the icy winter streets and sidewalks, I wouldn't be much good. We may or may not be getting a visit from the painter today too. Or, he may come tomorrow.
Today I don't plan to do much of anything. I am now reading an interesting fiction book, having finished the most recent semi-fiction book that I enjoyed. I still have to read yesterday's newspaper, but the beauty of that is that the news in "The City" doesn't change rapidly. The headlines are about the weekend windstorms and their local effects. Plus, there is the usual story about what local school children are up to. Also, the crossword is still in need of completion.
So there you have it. I heard the train go by around 12:30 AM, but it managed to traverse the tracks without my seeing it. Ciao.
