Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation,
and across the world. It is just before 4:30 a.m. in "The City."
According to the NWS, the current temperature is 58° under partly-cloudy
skies.
My DTWS shows 60º on both the front porch and on the deck. Today's high temperature is forecast by the NWS to be 70º under
partly-cloudy skies
with a
relative humidity index of 76% with a 30% chance for scattered showers and T-storms this afternoon..
According to my DTWS, the barometric pressure is 29.24"
and steady, while the NWS is reporting 29.81", also steady. Generally,
those readings indicate we have normal non-stormy weather for West MI. However, the forecast from the NWS of scattered showers and T-storms this afternoon should give the lie to the steadiness of those readings, as they generally indicate fair-weather. Go figure.
The sun will rise this morning @ 6:06 a.m. and it will set later @ 9:21 p.m.
We waited until later in the day yesterday to take the fur-children and ourselves for a walkabout @ Lake Forest Cemetery. In addition to ourselves, there were a few intrepid walkers, but by and large, the place was devoid of life. LOL. We noticed as we drove towards home, that the majority of people were at the Grand Haven City Beach, the Grand Haven State Park Beach, the boardwalk, and the local purveyor of batter-dipped hot dogs on a stick, Pronto Pup™. Were these people brave, foolhardy, or uninformed? Does it matter?
Yesterday, we watched two more episodes of Outlander. I'm still hooked. We, well I, finished two crossword puzzles from Tuesday edition of the Grand Haven Tribune. I generally have to wait for Wednesday or Thursday to require Mary's assistance to complete the increasingly more difficult puzzles.
Some critter decided it was time to dig in our lettuce garden on the deck yesterday afternoon while we were upstairs, so I had an impromptu salad yesterday afternoon. That was before our delicious dinner of shell pasta topped with Mary's simmered sauce with ground pepperoni. She was much happier with this sauce versus her last effort.
Last night, I watched Fever Pitch, the movie starring Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore on the MLB™ channel. While it is a baseball movie and it is about my beloved Boston Red Sox and a die-hard Sox fan, it was just a substitute for actual baseball. Still, I just had to watch like a moth that is drawn to a flame.
Will the MLB™ owners and players agree to a shortened season? Will there be a realignment of the divisions? Will greed win out? Stay tuned. As you may recall, Baseball is life! Here is a short clip from YouTube™ and Movieclips Classic Trailers™ from Fever Pitch. Enjoy!

Oh, I nearly forgot. The other day, our neighbor told me about a deer that was living nearby, perhaps it is the same deer as last year, a doe we and the neighbor children dubbed Betsy-Penny. Last night,
as I was watching Fever Pitch, Mary told me that she had seen Betsy-Penny in our next-door neighbor's front parkway and running across the street and down the railroad tracks near the manse. We surmise that the doe has a fawn nearby. Time will tell. No pix, sorry.
I almost made some vegan Italian sausages earlier this morning, but before I could go too far, I decided that I should check and I found that I had limited room in the refrigerator. There was just enough for the bowl of pinto beans necessary for the completion of the sausages, not for the sausages themselves. So as of now, that's what is in the refrigerator, a bowl of rinsed pinto beans.
This afternoon, the A/C serviceman will be by to check and repair or recharge our central air-conditioning unit. Just in time for a few cool days before the high-temperatures rise into the 80s early next week. Not to worry, our weather is so changeable that on any given day, the humidity and/or temperature may require the A/C to be turned on.
Otherwise, more Outlander, more music, more gardening, more? Ciao.
