Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation, and across the world. It is just after 7:00 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 49° under clear skies. My DTWS shows 47º on both the front porch and on the deck. According to the NWS, light winds of 3 mph make it feel like 49°. Today's high temperature is forecast to be 67º under partly-cloudy skies with a relative humidity index of 64% and a 40% chance for precipitation later this evening.

According to my DTWS, the barometric pressure is 29.65" and falling, while the NWS is reporting 30.26", and also falling. Generally, those readings indicate changeable weather.

The sun rose this morning @ 6:07 a.m. and it will set later @ 9:18 p.m

The River Flood Warning is no longer in effect. It has been replaced by three new statements, advisories, and alerts.

A Beach Hazard Statement with high wave action, strong currents, and dangerous swimming conditions expected. Piers will likely become swamped by waves in Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties. Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers. The worst of the swimming conditions will be around daybreak tomorrow. The south sides of south piers will be the most dangerous places to swim given a southerly flow of wind and waves. Colder water temperatures should keep many swimmers out of the water lessening the impact. However, we do have a large contingent of sailboarders here in the area who wear wetsuits. Otherwise, swimmers should remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions and should not venture out on piers.

In addition, there is a Small Craft Advisory in effect for those same hours. South winds increasing to 15 to 25 knots this afternoon will become southwest tonight. Waves will build from 3 to 6 feet from Holland to Manistee. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. The largest waves will occur late tonight and towards daybreak tomorrow.  Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

Finally, Mary was wondering why her allergies have been bothering her of late. The level of tree pollen was high yesterday and it will remain so for today and tomorrow, which has triggered a Pollen Alert.

We collectively finished the crossword puzzle from Friday's edition of the  Grand Haven Tribune and then I went out and washed the furniture, the deck, and the railings on the front porch. I'd forgotten how long that takes. Oh well, it's done now.

While I was thus engaged, Mary was busy in the kitchen making a steamed hammish, some tofu-based taco filling, and spicing up my Doritos™ flavored chickpeas. Some additional hot sauce and about 20 additional minutes in the oven, and they are now, to borrow from Goldilocks, "Just Right!" Wha was supposed to be Doritos™ flavored was too tame for me.

We sat for a while and then went walkabout with the fur-children to The Bookman to return an extra book and get us all some much-needed exercise. We returned to have some of the hammish for dinner with a side of applesauce as we watched another episode of Outlander.

I had plans to watch one of my all-time favorite John Wayne movies, The Quiet Man in the media room on a commercial cable channel. However, Mary helped me purchase the movie and now I can watch it anytime I want without commercial interruptions. There are many nuances in the purchased version that get edited out for commercial TV.

For those of you who aren't fans of The Duke, you should know that The Quiet Man features stellar performances by one of Wayne's favorite co-stars, Irish born actress Maureen O'Hara, character actor Ward Bond, Barry Fitzgerald, Arthur Shields, the younger brother of Barry Fitzgerald, and many others. This movie location from 1952, is still on the list of tourist attractions in Ireland. What can I say, I am a Quiet Man junkie.

While I was happily ensconced in the media room, Mary continued her reading and TV viewing downstairs.

Today, we hope to have a visit from a properly attired A/C service person to check and possibly recharge our mischievous A/C unit. By properly attired, we want that service person to be wearing a  mask.  STWD has a visit at her veterinarian this afternoon.

We probably need to do some indoor chores too. Ciao.
