Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."

We had a great day yesterday. I painted and made vegan chickpea chowder with mushrooms for lunch, while listening to the USA women't soccer team defeat the Netherlands, 2 - 0. Mary read and took a walk to Health Hutt for some small items and then did some reading of her own. Later, we walked to Don Luis for dinner and then I was ready for bed.

We have a current temperature of 62° under clear-skies. Later today, after the sun rises @ 6:13 a.m. and well before it sets @ 9:26 p.m., the NWS is forecasting sunny-skies. There is no precipitation in that forecast until Wednesday's 40%.

It rained on the parade of the 47 - 43, 1st place by 1/2 game over the Brewers in the NL Central Cubs yesterday when they played that 42 - 44, 3rd place in the AL Central other team from Chicago. The Cubs split the weekend series, losing the second game, 1 - 3. Most of the Cubs are off until next Friday for the All-Star™ break, when the Cubs welcome the 44 - 45, 4th place in the NL Central Pirates to the "Friendly Confines" @ 2:20 p.m. EDT. The NL Central division is very tight this year, with the 5th place Reds @ 41 - 46.

My beloved, 49 - 41, 3rd place in the AL East Red Sox, backed up David Price as he gained his 150th win. The final score over the 28 - 57, 5th place Tigers was 6 - 3. The Sox too are off until Friday, when they welcome the 60 - 32, 1st place in the NL West Dodgers to Fenway Park @ 7:10 p.m.

Of course, that win by the Red Sox meant that the 28 - 57, 5th place in the AL Central Tigers lost, 3 - 6. The Tigers are in Kansas City Friday night @ 8:15 p.m. to face the 30 - 61, 4th place in the AL Central Royals.

The overall, 28 - 58, 7 - 10 in the 2nd half of the MWL East season, West Michigan WhiteCaps, lost their game yesterday to the 52 - 35 overall, 13 - 4 in the 2nd half  of the season Bowling Green Hot Rods, 2 - 3. It has not been an easy year and I am left to ponder what these young men have planned as their careers other tan baseball. The Caps stay in Bowling Green today for their final game against the Hot Rods before returning to the Fifth/Third Ballpark on Wednesday for a game against the Quad City River Bandits, @ 7:10 p.m.

We accomplished all the indoor chores we had on tap for yesterday.

Otherwise, I never went to that movie yesterday, opting to paint and read. I may go today, or not, depending on my mood. That walk we took yesterday was more taxing than I had hoped. I may choose to stay in and out of the heat rather than ride my bike to the movie theater. A true game day decision. Ciao.
