Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:00 a.m. in "The City."

Yesterday in baseball was a split-decision, to use a term from boxing. The 45 - 40, now 2nd place in the NL Central Cubs, fell to the 40 - 43, 4th place in the same division Pirates, by a lopsided score of 5 - 18. Rookie pitcher Adbert Alzolay and the bullpen were roughed up big-time. That loss dropped the Cubs one-game in back of the 1st place Brewers before tonight's action in Pittsburgh @ 7:05 p.m.

My beloved 44 - 40, 3rd place in the AL East Red Sox, open in Toronto tonight against the 32 - 53. 5th  place Blue Jays @ 7:07 p.m. Maybe a long flight to the USA helped clear the minds and the bats of the Sox' pitchers and hitters respectively.

The 27 - 52, 4th place in the AL Central Tigers, open a series tonight against that 39 - 42, 3rd place other team from Chicago @ 8:10 p.m., after being unable to lose yesterday due to having an off day.

The 25 - 54 overall, 5 - 6 in the 2nd half of the MWL East season, West Michigan White Caps, split their double-header with the 47 - 32 overall, 7 - 4 in the 2nd half, Lake county, OH Captains, losing the 1st game, 1 - 5, but winning the 2nd game, 5 - 1 to remain solidly in 5th place. The Caps move on to South Bend, IN to face the South Bend Cubs tonight @ 7:35 p.m.

My Grand Haven Art Meet Up at the library was lightly attended last evening, 1st sessions often are. The session organizer, Jeremy, myself, Jeremy's nephew, and a lady from Muskegon were the only people present. Hopefully, we'll see more people as the weeks and months progress. Today, I will be going to my monthly Coffee and Coloring session, also at the library, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. While I was at the library, I picked up the books I had on hold, along with two for Mary.

Today, along with my trip to the library, I'll be riding my bike to my 2nd of five knee injection sessions. Of course, I'll be having lunch at the hospital salad bar.

We have a current temperature of 70° under partly-cloudy skies. Later today, the NWS is forecasting  high-temperature of 77° under mostly-cloudy skies, with a 40% chance for scattered T-storms, with gusty winds and small hail possible. I guess riding my bike to the hospital should be interesting.

Otherwise, Mary enjoyed going out to dinner by herself last evening while I was at the library. Two hours of time to read and not have to worry about fur-children nor me. A good night for both of us. Actually, one of the reasons I enjoy lunching @ the hospital salad-bar is the chance to read in solitude too. Being retired is great, but there are times when some alone time is great too.Ciao.
