Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 5:00 a.m. in "The City."

The Weather Window One Report has consulted the NWS for the following information. The pollen count is elevated and the current temperature is a comfortable 69° under partly-cloudy skies. Later, after the sunrise @ 6:20 a.m. and before it sets @ 9:21 p.m., we'll see a high of 83°, also under partly-cloudy skies. The NWS is also forecasting an 80% chance for T-storms on Thursday, beginning in earnest around 7:00 a.m. The staff pseudo-meteorologists here at the Weather Window One Report, have only limited faith in that forecast, but we shall wait and see.

Right now, the view out the WW is dark, with a side of dark, and the mean streets of GH are devoid of vehicular traffic. All of that is before we see the dawn's early light in less than one-hour. We are due for a train run today, but that too is subject to the vagaries of the MMRR schedulers and their penchant for trains running as needed on the RSTL.

Baseball news yesterday was not all that good. The 51 - 44, 1st place in the NL Central Cubs, needed 10 innings and the first walk-off home run of Kyle Schwarber's career, to win their game over the Reds, 4 - 3. Alberto Almora Jr. made a highlight reel catch in center field to rob the Reds Joey Votto of a two-base hit in the bottom of the first. That was after starting pitcher Alec Mills allowed three runs in that frame to give Cubs' fans a collective scare. The Cubs send Yu Darvish, 2 - 4, to the mound @ 2:20 p.m. EDT today.

My beloved,  51 - 44, 3rd place in the AL East Red Sox, sent newly acquired and rusty pitcher Andrew Cashner to the mound against the 36 - 60, 4th place Blue Jays last night. The result was a 4 - 10 loss. The Sox and the Jays go again tonight @ 7:10 p.m., when Eduardo Rodriguez, 10 - 4, gets the ball from manager Alex Cora.

The really bad, 29 - 62, 5th place in the AL Central Tigers, optioned starting pitcher Ryan Carpenter, 1 - 6, back to the Toledo Mud Hens, following an 8-run downpour by the 53 - 40, 2nd place Cleveland Indians that preceded a 2- hour rain delay. The Tigers should be certain that the future is not now, for either the team or Carpenter. The Tigers and the Indians play tonight @ 7:10 p.m. when they send Spencer Turnbull, 3 - 8, to the mound.

The West Michigan WhiteCaps were off yesterday, so they couldn't find a novel way to lose another game. They are in Beloit to face the Snappers tonight @ 7:30 p.m.

Otherwise, I traveled on my bike to the nearby big-box home and garden center for some items, before landing at the barbershop to get some of my hairs cut. I returned to water the vast gardens, and finish the home repairs that had necessitated that trip to the big-box store. While I was out, Mary prepared our brunch of waffles and tempeh based breakfast sausages. We both agree that there was too much cayenne pepper in those patties. Otherwise, the brunch was great..

Mary also had prepared a cucumber salad for last-night's dinner, but I had a yen for Don Luis, so we ended there. Today's brunch will probably feature the leftovers from last night's fajitas.

We have some indoor chores to do today, but that is about the extent of our activities given the outdoor weather conditions. Ciao.
