Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:00 a.m. in "The City."
Wowie, the boys in blue are in first place for the first time in six years, with a record of 5 - 3. They open another home stand against the San Diego Padres, the third place Padres, with a record of 6 - 4, in a 2:20 p.m. game at the Friendly Confines. The boys are expected to call up their top prospect, Kris Bryant, today. They don't always have a good record with their top prospects. All too many have become lesser lights, or they get traded and become stars elsewhere. The boys and the Tigers were off yesterday. The Tigers are in first place in their division, with an 8 - 1 record. My beloved Red Sox, with a 6 - 3 record, are also in first place in their division. For a baseball fan like me, that's fantastic. The Caps, with a record of 4 - 4 are in 4th place in their division. I have to issue a correction and tell my many readers that the team from Lake County, is called the Captains.
Yesterday was an interesting day. I got some time in with the girls and did some reading too. Once again, I have no specific plans and in spite of anyone's protestations, I plan to stick to my plan. What's that they say about "Plan your work, work you plan?"
No train spotting last night/this morning. That's okay, because there is always another day/night/morning.
Yesterday I exchanged one of my new computer speakers because it apparently had a defective battery. That was probably the smoothest thing I did. There is an advantage to buying locally. If I hadn't, I would have had to send the speaker back to a location that would have required weeks to create a turn around.
That looks like enough for one day/night/morning. Today's high temperature, after the sun rises at 7:00 a.m. will be 63°, after falling to the overnight low of 38°. The sun will set at 8:29 p.m. tonight. Saturday, Earth Day, will be sunny with a projected high of 69°. I'll be staying home as Mary travels to her Yarn-Con meeting in Chicago. I have my Irish Jam on Saturday afternoon, and then there are some activities, including music, in Central Park. STWD and I will take the morning walk after Mary sets out, and then I'll settle in for a while until I have to go. Ciao.
