Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 12:00 a.m. in "The City." The Tigers are on a roll. They outlasted the Indians 8 - 5 to go 6 - 0 on the season. My beloved Red Sox fell to the Yankees, 4 - 14, ouch. The boys in blue topped the Rockies, 6 - 5, and they are now 3 - 2 for the new year. The Caps, unfortunately, fell to the Great Lakes Loons, 1 - 5. In golf, 21 year old Jordan Spieth handily won the Masters by going 18 under par for the tournament. For those of you who are fans of Tiger Woods, he finished at five under. Not a great showing, but when compared to some recent results, it was solid.

The southbound run of the short-line that goes through town rolled through at 11:22 p.m. The regular cast of locomotives towing one box car and 18 CHCs.

We finished the gardening, for awhile. The beans, the beets, the cucumbers, the kale, and the Swiss chard are all in the the ground. A busy day for both Mary and I. We also got the mulch spread, and that was a lengthy process in and of itself.

Otherwise, we didn't accomplish much. STWD and I took the morning walk while Mary found the bottom of her kitchen. I think I got the better end of the deal after viewing the kitchen. The weather was superb and later the temperature topped out at a sunny 65°.Today we expect a high of 55° with a 90% chance of rain.

The gardening activity caused us to visit the favorite watering hole as a reward for our efforts. By 3:00 p.m., the French toast that Mary made for breakfast had worn off.

I learned something before we left for town. When you don't have a fine particle filter in your Shopvac™, the dust that you pull in on one end blows back out the other end. I have more cleanup to do now than when I started.

Today, I am going to get to playing with the girls and doing some reading and crosswords. It is time that I had some downtime.

The sun will rise at 7:09 a.m., and set at 8:24 p.m. Ciao.
