Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 1:30 a.m. in "The City."
Amazingly enough, that good weather we have been having here in West, Michigan and specifically in the Tri-Cities area, is over until at least next Monday. We have a current temperature of 39° per the NWS, or 41°, according to my DTWS. Either way, we will see the overnight low drop down to 35° before we rebound all the way up to today's mostly sunny high temperature of 51°.
Meteorologist Bill Steffens of WOOD Radio/TV mentioned that there is slight chance of frost tonight, We'll see temperatures of 45°, 47°, and 48° for the next three days, until Monday's high reaches 61°. However, while the temperature will reach 64° next Tuesday, we won't see the 60° mark for many more days in the early part of May. Enough already. The sun will rise @ 6:43 a.m. and set later @ 8:40p.m.
For the most part, baseball was a tough view yesterday. The Cubs' bats once again went into the deep-freezer as the now 11 - 10 Cubs fell to the 13 - 9 Indians, 1 - 4. Jon Lester pitched well enough, but with the Cubs only scoring one lone run, he would have had to throw a perfect game for the win. The Cubs return to the Friendly Confines for a game tonight against the Brewers @ 7:05 p.m. against the 10 - 9 Brewers, weather permitting.
The 10 - 12 Tigers followed the advice of the late Cubs' great, Ernie Banks yesterday, as they played two, winning the first game in a come-back effort against the 13 - 11 Pirates 13 - 10, in a game that saw the Tigers crash four home-runs. Unfortunately their bats fell asleep in game two, as they could not support losing pitcher Matthew Boyd and lost to the Pirates, 3 - 8. The Tigers and the Pirates play again this afternoon @ 12:36 p.m. So far this year, the Tigers have been rained out seven times.
My beloved 18 - 5 Red Sox righted the ship yesterday as they defeated the 14 - 9 Bluejays in Toronto, 4 - 3. Mookie Bets belted two home-runs in the win. The Tigers and the Bluejays play again tonight @ 7:07 p.m.
The 11 - 6 Caps tumbled out of first place in the MWL East, as they lost to the 10 - 8 Lake County, OH Captains, 3 - 6. The Caps and the Captains play again today @ 12:00 p.m.
I was successful in the kitchen yesterday as my vegan faux meatloaf turned out very tasty. The texture is more like a roast beest, but the flavor is definitely that of a meatloaf. It should be good for sandwiches and similar uses. I pronounce it a keeper.
I worked a semi-side project for the latest index yesterday, as I highlighted the many tiny, and I emphasize tiny, numbers that refer to the end-notes in this book. I now have to highlight the book for the usual things. I will start the first part of the book in a while.
Otherwise, we took a walk to The Bookman with the fur-children yesterday and looked at some mulch for the vast PE. We are having a service do the installation to save my baking yak.
I am still enjoying my latest novel along with starting that non-fiction book for our book club. Mary will continue the current index. Ciao.
