Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 4:30 a.m. in "The City."
I plan to make this as brief as possible so that I can go to the media room and watch old black and white reruns of 1950s TV shows. Last night, I came upstairs to watch Quigley Down Under, starring Tom Selleck, with a bowl of popcorn.
Yesterday's weather was terrific! The sun was shining, the temperature was in the lower 60s, and that meant it was good day to take the fur-children for a walk and so, we did. STWD, as the matriarch of the fur-clan, had all she could do to make it the five or six blocks that we traveled, whereas Ginger, being the teenager that she is, was still ready to go.
We have a current temperature of between 41° and 43° under partly cloudy skies. Later today, the high temperature forecast from the NWS is for 68°! However, don't get too excited, because we will not see 60° again for several more days and then more 40s and 50s. Enough already! The sun will rise today @ 6:50 a.m. and set @ 8:36 p.m.
Mary made what has become one of my favorite breakfast treats, a casserole of Tater-Tots™ with scrambled tofu, mushrooms, onions and vegan cheese. Dinner was, of course, @ our favorite watering hole.
Since it was such a nice day, Mary finished more indexing, printed out the next book, and then we walked to our favorite watering hole. I reminded Mary that everybody and their best friend would also have that idea, and I was right. However, we scored the last available table before returning home. All together, I made it nearly 6,000 steps between the tow outings and I feel good about that.
In between, I did some indoor chores and made some vegan sausages.
Sports news yesterday was mixed.
The 10 - 9 Cubs started out string against the 12 - 11 Rockies in Colorado. Kris Bryant was hit by a 96 mph fastball to the brim of his batting helmet which knocked him out of the game, but early indications are that he did not get a concussion. The Cubs are off today before traveling to face the 11 - 8 Indians on Tuesday evening @ 6:10 p.m. EDT.
The 9 - 11 Tigers surrendered a game that they should have won to the 5 0 14 Royals as the Tigers'
bullpen once again imploded and gave up runs that the Tigers couldn't match. The Tigers are also off today before traveling to meet the Pirates @ 7:05 EDT.
My beloved 17 - 4 Red Sox dropped a second game to the 11 - 11 Oakland As, 1 - 4. The Sox' bats just couldn't get going and so their great start has hit a snag. Here's hoping that when the Sox get to Toronto for Tuesday night's game against the Blur Jays, that the rest will do them some good.
The 11 - 3 Caps eked out a win over the 3 - 11 Great Lakes Loons, 2 - 1. That keeps the Caps atop the MWL East as they travel to meet the Lake County, OH Captains tonight @ 6:05 p.m.
Today, I have no specific plans. Mary has work to do. I may do some yard work while I enjoy the great outdoors of West, MI with the fur-children. Ciao.
