Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 6:00 a.m. in "The City."
Good news, all of my baseball teams won yesterday.
The 8 - 8 Cubs defeated the 10 - 8 Cardinals in Wrigley field yesterday, 8 - 5, with some timely hitting and some solid pitching by Jon Lester. Javier Baez looked good near the top of the batting order as he stroked a triple in the bottom of the first. The Cubs now depart on a West Coast road trip and make their first stop in Colorado against the Rockies tonight @ 7:40 p.m.
The 7 - 9 Tigers looked good compared to the woeful 5 - 14 Orioles as the Tigers won the game, 13 - 8. However, we know what often happens when the Tigers face a strong team. The Tigers welcome the Royals to Comerica Park today @ 1:10 p.m. for a makeup game.
My beloved 16 - 2 Red Sox continued their successful West Coast road trip as they handily defeated the 13 - 6 Angels, 8 - 2. That win by the Sox gives them the best record in Major League Baseball and also the Sox' best start since 1987! The Sox move to Oakland to play the 9 - 10 "A"s tonight @ 10:05 p.m.
The 8 - 3 Caps were also victorious as they defeated the 6 - 8 Bowling Green Hot Rods last night, 7 - 3. That win keeps the Caps tied with the Dayton Dragons atop the MWL East. The Caps host the 3 - 8 Great Lakes Loons tonight @ 6:05 p.m.
Yesterday afternoon was a pain in the ... We/me are trying to get that replacement cell phone and it is turning out to be a royal pain. I want a simple phone that has long battery life, and that seems to be an impossibility. Maybe we'll try again today.
The current temperature is 30° as we strive to reach today's high of 47° under sunny skies. The long-range forecast from the NWS shows temperatures hovering in the low 50s until early May. We are seeing the snow melt, albeit slowly, but I/we want spring.
Otherwise, not much is happening. Baseball is still life and I am finished with my highlighting. Mary has her work to do, but she feels as though it will go well.
The sun will rise shortly @ 6:54 a.m. and set later @ 8:33 p.m. Ciao.
