Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 6:00 a.m. in "The City."

A short weather report this morning. We have a current temperature of 46° under partly cloudy skies. The high temperature today, according to the forecast from the NWS is 52°. also under partly cloudy skies. We will stay in the upper 40s and low 50s until next Monday, when we will have a forecast high of 63° under sunny skies. The sun will rise shortly @ 6:47 a.m. and set much later tonight @ 8:39 p.m.

Baseball yesterday was filled with rain-outs. The 9 - 11 Tigers game against the 12- 10 Pirates was rained out and they will try again this afternoon @ 4:05 p.m.

The 11 - 9 Cubs trounced the 12 - 9 Indians last night, 10 - 3, on the strength of two home runs off the bat of Kyle Schwarber and in spite of the absence of Kris Bryant, who was/is still recovering from the effects of that bean-ball in the last game. The Cubs take on the Indians tonight @ 6:10 p.m.

My beloved 17 - 5 Red Sox took it on the chin from the 14 - 8 Bluejays, 3 - 4 in 10 innings. The Sox have now dropped several games in a row following their strong start this season. Both teams play again tonight in Toronto @ 7:07 p.m.

The 11 - 4 Caps were also rained out in Ohio against the 8 - 8 Captains, but the Caps remain atop the MWL East. Those two teams are scheduled to try again tonight @ 5:00 p.m.

Yesterday. Mary spent some time organizing the next book for my highlighting pleasure. She still has more work to do on that, plus more indexing on the current project.

I made it to my orthopedist appointment yesterday and that went very well. Two more injections to go.

We got out and picked up some flowers for the vast gardens of the PE and also did some light grocery shopping.

While we were at the grocery store, Mary picked up a new rose for our "Flower Room." I took a picture with our old camera and I'll include that here.

I'm hoping that future photos will be much clearer. However, a single rose, like a single snowflake, is unique and beautiful.
Today, I plan to be in the kitchen and do some vegan cooking, a recipe I found for vegan Faux Meatloaf. The recipe requires some mixing, baking, and basting, but I am up for the challenge.

Mary will continue to work after we walk the fur-children. I also plan to finish my current book and get started on the next book for our book club project, which is a book that has been turned into a movie or TV show. I have chosen All the President's Men, by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein. For those of you too young to remember, this is the story of the break-in  @ the DNC Headquarters at the Watergate office building that brought down the presidency of Richard Nixon. Ciao.
