Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is is just past 9:30 p.m. in "The City."

We have no alerts in effect at this time, which is a change from most of the previous week.

A current temperature of 44° under partly-cloudy skies, feels more like 39° with a 10 mph wind blowing.

Tomorrow's high is forecast to reach 43°, also under partly-cloudy skies. The NWS is showing a current barometric pressure of 30.39" in GR and rising, while my own DTWS is showing 29.83 " and falling.

The warm days are over. From this day forward, the NWS forecast calls for daytime high-temperatures to stay in the low to mid 40° range.

The sun will rise tomorrow @ 7:44 a.m. and set later @ 5:16 p.m.

We've had a busy couple of days here at the Palatial Estate and around the manse in general.

We finally moved the malfunctioning TV out of the dining room and replaced it with a TV we bought many months ago in the pre-pandemic before times. We had originally installed the new TV in the downstairs guest room, but now it has a place of honor in our dining room. Now we can get used to a new remote and a new TV all at the same time. We also completed two crossword puzzles.

We also found time to do some other small chores around the manse. For example, we used another old family recipe for a vegan loaf that is made with tofu, breadcrumbs, and some other spices. It tasted great and stayed together when Mary removed it from the pan. Mary was so excited. Tofu loaves don't usually stay together, but this one did. I also made more of my soon to be famous vegan Italian burgers too. No pix of those.

While not likely a carnivore's first choice, for us vegans, it was great!

We took a walkabout around Lake Forest Cemetery with the fur-children. We all needed some exercise. I took no pictures, but that was a choice I made when we headed out the door.

Today, we duplicated that walkabout, and once again, I eschewed taking my camera. I took a seminar one time where the presenter stated that the best camera you have is the one you take with you. Well, this was one of those times when I should have taken along my camera. Instead, when we spotted the deer roaming around with seemingly no concern, I had to grab our Smart Phone and use the camera in that to take a couple of pix of the deer as they grazed and Ginger barked.

I see you!

Looking at something or someone else.

Not bad for a Smart Phone camera. If I had had my camera, I would have had a lot more shots, including when they walked right up to a truck that was parked, which even had a dog inside and the deer didn't even care. They didn't even care about Ginger barking at them either.

We finally installed those aforementioned coat hooks in the mud room earlier today. That went better than expected, but it took all of our brain power to calculate the proper spacing. I think we were having a "Senior Moment" or two.

I gave myself another of my self-administered or is that self-inflicted haircuts. Surprisingly, I look better than I might. I struggle with Ginger's grooming and I won't try on Mary.

Our back-forty looks much better now that our snow removal and landscape service visited. He had originally thought he would be unable to get around to our estate until next week, but apparently with the local schools having returned to online instruction, he had three or four helpers available this afternoon. I still have a few things to tune up, but I can handle those. At my age, I need help for all of the leaves that have fallen since my earlier efforts.

However, that visit gave us more time for those hooks and another crossword puzzle.

We started a new BBC series yesterday, Victoria. This is the story of England's Queen Victoria, beginning with her coronation at age 18 in 1837. I like this much better than our other choice, David Copperfield

Tomorrow, we have more indoor chores to do, but that is mostly a wait and watch activity. More music is in store along with another crossword puzzle, more reading, and more retirement. Ciao.
