Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 4:00 a.m. in "The City."

We have a current temperature of 59° under cloudy skies. Those cloudy skies will lead to rains later today with a peak percentage of 90% by this afternoon. We'll have a high temperature of 61° with a chance of T-storms. The sun will rise @ 8:21 a.m. and set @ 6:34 p.m.

We had a great day yesterday. We got up relatively early for us and then took the morning safari with the fur-children to the downtown area of GH. Our handyman, John, was working on the kitchen ceiling and trim when we left and he is making steady progress. He should finish the walls in the kitchen today and we can have the kitchen back once again. We went out later to run some errands, and so Giner had to be in her crate for her own protection. STWD had the run of the house, as she and John get along fine.

Since our kitchen is under construction, we had to change our plans for the dessert to take to the meeting of the book club. Instead of pumpkin pie, I made oatmeal-raisin cookies. I made them a bit large and had to bake them a bit longer. Mary thinks they are not my best effort. She believes that they are not sweet enough. I respectfully disagree. Mary is not much of a sweet eater, especially cookies, so she is not the best judge. I'll leave that to the other club members.

We traveled to Muskegon to the Muskegon Museum of Art to see the exhibit "Circular Abstractions" an exhibit of the art of quilting. Mary took some pictures wth our smartphone, but I couldn't retrieve them. So, you'll just have to accept my word for the quality of the quilts and the skills of the various artists.

Before we went to Muskegon, I planted the grass seeds in the front parkway of the PE. I raked, I ameliorated the soil, I sowed more seeds, and if the seeds will do their part, we should see new grass this fall and next spring.

Most importantly, last night, the Cubs tied the World Series @ 3 - 3. Jake Arrieta was his solid Cy Young winning self and the Cubs slumbering lumber came to life on a 70° plus night in Cleveland. Kris Bryant started the scoring with a towering home run and went 4/5. He was ably supported by Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, and Addison Russell, who added a grand-slam home run and contributed to the final blow-out of 9 - 3 over the Indians.

Game seven is tonight with similar temperatures to last night. Kyle Hendricks will be on the mound as the Cubs attempt to come back from a 1 - 3 World Series deficit. Only five other teams have accomplished that feat in Major League history. The Indians emptied their bullpen in an effort to staunch the bleeding, but they couldn't get it done. I was in error when I thought that Corey Kluber would be on the mound for the Indians last night. Josh Tompkins was there for a short stint, but he was pitching on short rest and couldn't solve the Cubs. Kluber will be on the mound tonight. This is the year! I hope.

Today we'll be going to the book club and I want to get to the local pharmacy to get our flu shots. We will be traveling soon, and I don't want to be in a confined space without some measure of protection.

I want to get in some time with the girls too, but that seems to be eluding me of late. Ciao.
