Good evening Mr. and Mrs. America and all the ships @ sea. It is just past 9:00 p.m. in "The City."

What can I say? Thanksgiving was a complete success, from the pumpkin pie that turned out to be as delicious as it looked for an opening act, to the last morsel of the "Perfectly Extraordinary Beest" that capped off our holiday. In between, Mary sliced up some vegan cheese, chopped some carrots and celery, and served them with blue cheese dressing and crackers in the media room for a mid-afternoon snack. That snack came along with the creation of green bean casserole, dressing, garlic smashed potatoes and cauliflower, and gravy, all with chopped portobello mushrooms. Just for me, she served Ocean Spray™ jellied cranberry sauce. I assisted with retrieval of cooking and serving dishes, as well as smashing the potatoes. Mary says she was as happy as can be in her kitchen. I know I was delighted with the results.

We decided to chronicle our day's activities in pictures. I am including them in chronological
order below. However, I make no claim on the accuracy of the order.

Breakfast, post morning safari in a relatively quiet city.

The snacks were the perfect accompaniment

As the Lions beat the Vikings in the first of three NFL games

Large portobello mushrooms were reduced to small bits for the dressing, gravy, and green bean casserole

This is true multitasking as Mary prepared the mushrooms and onions

I was ready and I totally enjoyed our dinner

The kitchen has now returned to its pre-cooling condition, as seen here.

Naturally, both of the fur-children were in attendance for the holiday feast. However, since nearly everything had onions as one of the ingredients or was served in Mary's china, they didn't get anything other than a few crackers for behaving themselves.

We capped off our evening by watching two movies on the Hallmark Channel™. I love romances that always end well on Hallmark. Mary is still watching another movie, but since I was out with GTWD, I didn't have a clue as to the plot of this one, No matter, I am certain it will turn out well too.

The weather was mostly rainy all day. I took an afternoon walk with GTWD while Mary worked her magic in the kitchen. STWD only needs one walk per day now, but the wonder dog could go for several and still not be tired.

We have a current temperature of 43° according to the DTWS, while the NWS is reporting 42°. In both cases, the rain is still part of the day/evening. We are forecast to get a break from the rain on Friday morning, then the rains will return Friday evening. The sun will rise tomorrow @ 7:50 a.m. and set @ 5:13 p.m. Ciao.
