Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 3:30 a.m. in "The City."

I was just outside with Ginger @ 3:00 a.m. and it started to rain. The NWS is offering that there was a T-Storm possible from 3:15 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Go figure.

The current temperature is 55° under partly cloudy skies. Today's high has been forecast to be a balmy 63° I'd say the skies are more than partly cloudy, as it was raining. Time for my famous line. Go figure! According to Weather.com, the skies will be partly cloudy all day.

The sun will rise later this morning @ 8:19 a.m. and set @ 6:35 p.m.

Well, here we are, it is November 1, 2016. The Cubs are still in the World Series. What more could a Die Hard fan ask? Yes, the game tonight is in Cleveland. Yes, the Cubs are down 2 - 3 in the series and once again have their collective backs against that proverbial wall in a win or go home game. Yes, the Indians will be sending Corey Kluber to the mound against the Cubs inert lumber. But, and here is the big but, the Indians have pushed Kluber to the max and he has responded, until now. But, he is human, so I'll wait until the rotund lady sings to offer up my final commentary on the baseball season.

Speaking of sports, the 1 - 6 Bears took the field last night in a game against the 5 - 1 Vikings. The Bears won, 20 - 10. Something is wrong with the Vikings offense. Something is coming together for the Bears, perhaps the return of starting QB Jay Cutler from his injuries. Sadly, the Bears will have to win out to conclude the season @ 10 - 6. So like the Cubs, they face an uphill battle, but anything is possible as long as Jay Cutler can remain healthy.

Yesterday, our handyman, John, completed painting the downstairs bathroom while we were out running some errands. It looks terrific. Before Mary and I left, we shared lunch with John. I made my now famous Coleslaw to accompany Mary's spicy tomato loaf sandwiches. I think the sustenance made his efforts easier.

Last night, the trick or treaters were few and far between, according to Mary. She believes, and I must agree, that since the porch lights need to be on for the trick or treaters to stop, there weren't enough lights on in our neighborhood to make our neighborhood inviting. In fact, she noted that our neighbors did not have lights on at all. More Smartees™ for me. The fur-children and I were in the media room to avoid any dog related problems. Mary delivered room service.

Today, we are hoping to enjoy the morning safari with the fur-children without any precipitation, That weather phenomenon is not supposed to appear until this evening and going into tomorrow, so that should make it possible. How does the NWS explain the current conditions? I don't know. I do know that the T-storms never materialized and the rains were very short-lived.

Today, more painting by John and more cooking by me. Mary will assist me in the kitchen in an effort to improve my performance. At this point, our Book Club sweet treat may become something less strenuous/rigorous due to time constraints. Pumpkin pie just takes too long in a kitchen compromised by painting activities.

Other than that, we have no specific plans and that feels good. I do need to get out to the gardens of the vast PE to harvest the kale and plant some grass seed before the expected rains tonight and tomorrow, but that will be the extent of my outdoor activities. I want to get to reading, playing with the girls and that will be enough for me.  Ciao.
