What a difference a day makes

Good afternoon GH. Wow, what a night. Sugar the Weather Dog was terrified by the fireworks and the traffic after the waterfront show was heavy. Like many things, I have to figure out why my blog now wants a daily title for my post, which was never needed before. Oh well, I am digressing again.  Our current temperature here in the Weather Center is 78 degrees. Outside 80, so pretty much the same.

As my title promised, this day is a lot quieter than last. Sugar is most appreciative. She and I didn't walk downtown today. Instead we took one look down the main street and knew we had best stay away. Too many people and too many crazy drivers. That's the price we pay for nine months of idyllic living here in our tourist town. As Jimmy Buffett said, "Almost like it used to be before the circus came to town."

Today, I walked Sugar in the AM and then watered the gardens here on our palatial estate. I flew my large helicopter after some minor repairs. But, I have to find a place to fly where there aren't any wires and things in the way. Too little space raises the chance for a collision dramatically.

Speaking of helicopters, I ordered a replacement battery for one of my small copters earlier. The old battery won't take enough of a charge for hovering and extended flight. I'll have it next week. I made good progress on the puzzle yesterday. I am getting closer each time I try.

Today, I have to help Mary on her work. Before I do, I have to play a little music. But first, sports.

The boys in blue fell to the Athletics 0 - 1. The Tigers ripped the Bluejays, 11 - 1. My beloved Red Sox hammered the Padres 8 - 2. The Caps got beaten by the Loons, 5 - 7.

I hope that if you want to see some additional pictures from our recent road trip, you will try Mary's blog @ http://marygoeswalking.blogspot.com/. You will find all the pictures that I wish I had taken.

We had a great Fourth of July early in the day. We grilled out and the food was great from the grill. Roast potatoes, and apple and sage veggie sausages. Plus, the Cole slaw that Mary and I worked on the day before turned out great. I think we are almost there.

Ciao.
