Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just after 7:00 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 34° under cloudy skies, with winds of 15 mph that make it feel more like 24°! Today's high-temperature is forecast to reach 36°. That's about 8° colder than yesterday. However, we are still on track to reach 42 sunny degrees on Saturday! By Sunday, we still expect to see 50°. albeit under partly-cloudy skies and with windy conditions.

There is a Gale Warning in effect until 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. North Gale-Force winds to 45 knots and waves over 12 feet are in the forecast from St Joseph to Manistee, but mostly from Holland to Grand Haven. Mariners should avoid these hazardous conditions by remaining in port. Or, they should seek safe harbor. I must get down to the Grand Haven State Park area with my camera to get some pix of those waves.

Yesterday was rather mundane around here. We got up late, fed the fur-children and then ourselves. I read more of my latest novel and worked the crossword puzzle from the Grand Haven Tribune.

Lunch was a nice toona salad and dinner was TVP sloppy Joe's with a side of oven-baked, home-cut, sweet potato fries. Mary added a twist to the fries by adding garlic and paprika before baking. I liked them that way.

In spring baseball news, the 5 - 8 Cubs hope to rebound from yesterday's 0 - 5 loss to the 9 - 4 Rangers in a game against that 7 - 5 other team from Chicago, a game that is scheduled to begin @ 3:05 p.m. EST.

A side note, RHP and likely opening day starter, Yu Darvish, was scratched from yesterday's start with flu-like symptoms. Those symptoms prompted the Cubs to take extra precautions with all of their players given the current concern over the Coronavirus in the US. He should be ready to resume throwing again today.

My beloved, 4 - 8 Red Sox lost to the 5 - 6 Astros, also by an 0 - 5 score. The Sox received what should be good news yesterday as the latest results of an MRI on the elbow of LHP Cris Sale, he of the $145 million contract extension, has has a flexor strain in his left elbow and will wait a week before he throws again. There appears to be no need for season-ending Tommy John surgery at this time. Whew!!! The Sox square off today against the 4 - 8 Braves @ 1:05 p.m. EST.

The 6 - 5 Tigers walloped the 8 - 4 Yankees yesterday, 15 - 11, as Miggy and Travis Demeritte went back-to-back on the Yankees ace, RHP Gerrit Cole. Miggy is trying to prove he is back and Demeritte, a former Braves prospect, is trying to prove he belongs. Here's hoping for success on the part of both players. The Tigers welcome the 9 - 6 Phillies today @ 1:05 p.m. EST.

Today, we should go to the big-box everything grocery store and the smaller-box grocery store too. I will be going along.

I hope to work more on my editing task, and I'd like to get some of those aforementioned pix too. Of course, there is also music to be played, crosswords to be solved, and more reading to be done.

Mary will be driving the car to the grocery stores while I enjoy the ride-along. Ciao.
