Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just after 4:00 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 40° under rainy skies with winds of 12 mph that make it feel more like 33°. Today's high is forecast to be 42°

A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 8:00 p.m. tonight from St Joseph to Grand Haven. Northwest winds of 15 to 25 knots and waves from 6 to 9 feet can be expected.

The sun will rise today @ 8:04 a.m. and set later @ 7:46 p.m.

Yesterday, we were still getting used to the change to Daylight Savings Time, so we got up even later than usual. A light lunch of a vegan hotdog on a bun and one of my two favorite vegetables, chopped leaf spinach, and we were ready to sit and down and do some reading.

The rains fell sporadically, but that is always better than a gully-washing downpour. In fact, by mid-afternoon, we were able/required to take the fur-children for a walk of about four blocks. We tried to convince them that it was too wet, but they can be rather insistent. Ginger kept jumping into my lap and using her patented paw the face technique, to let her wishes be known.

We don't mind the rain, but it is the mud on their feet and the impossibility of getting Ginger's curly hair dry that deterred us at all. They can tell that there is no ice or snow on the sidewalks and unless it is really cold, they want to go for a walk.

W traveled to Stan's afterward and then home for some TV viewing and a light dinner of another vegan hotdog, this one sans bun, accompanied by red beans.

I was ready for bed and so I made my way upstairs, got the bedroom ready for the night and then sat down to watch Blazing Saddles, one of the funniest Mel Brooks movies. Unfortunately, I soon fell asleep. Upon waking in the media room, I went to bed to fall asleep listening to the John Fugelsang program on the radio. I was there when Mary came to bed after reading in the Lazy-Boy downstairs and now here I am.

Today, Mary has an appointment for a haircut followed by a trip to the smaller-box grocery store, while I have an orthopedic appointment. As young John Connor said in Terminator 2, "Last one!" In his case, he was referring to the ammunition clips available to Linda Hamilton's character, John's mother, Sarah Connor. However, in my case, I am referring to the final of five injections for my knees. I should be good to go for six to eight months of pain free walking.

That's enough for one day. Ciao.
