Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just after 8:00 a.m. in "The City."

The current temperature is 34° under mostly-cloudy skies with winds of 8 mph that make it feel more like 27°. Today's high is forecast to be 47° with 16 mph winds. That's about 10° warmer than yesterday. But, with the predicted 9 mph winds, it won't feel all that warm. Part of the forecast from the NWS also calls for showers this evening @ 30%. If all goes according to plan and the forecast by the NWS proves accurate, Thursday's high will be 53° with an 80% chance for rain, also in the evening. Unfortunately, the forecast  also calls for temperatures in the 30s, upper 40s and an occasional 50s for at least the next week!

The sun will rise today @ 7:50 a.m. and set later @ 7:55 p.m.

We took our lives in our hands yesterday and traveled to the local medium-box grocery store to take advantage of the service they offer called Fast Lane, a grocery pick-up service where someone does the shopping for items you've ordered online and then loads them into your vehicle. A $5.00 service fee applies and it is also a good idea to tip your "Shopper/Loader" upon receipt of your order. I can empathize with the clerks and service people at the stores who have no control over the supply of things that the store has run out of. I mean, how many rolls of TP does anyone need?

With the current pandemic, you may not get everything you ordered, or you may get approved substitutions, but all in all, we like the service and may continue to use it in the non-pandemic future, if that ever happens.

As we were heading towards our pick-up rendezvous, we stopped at the Grand Haven City Beach for a photo-op. With cabin fever seemingly consuming the local populace, we were not alone. Mothers with their children were building sand castles and dogs were happily playing on the beach which is open to dogs until Memorial Day.

Children always enjoy a cold day at the beach!

Dogs too!
We made it to our grocery rendezvous, and then took a short ride into the wilds of Spring Lake to continue our photo-op. We didn't spot any eagles, but we did see some great barns and things, so I was happy.

Just a bit of the scenery.
The Tree Chipper of Life?
I should mention that the local price for gasoline continues to free-fall. As we were headed to our rendezvous with the groceries, I took this pic of the current price for gasoline at the station associated with the grocery store.

Yes, you read that right, $1.69 per gallon!
According to a story on a local TV station, the price may continue to fall to under $1.00 per gallon due to the reduced travel during the quarantine and the "Fist-Fight" that is going on between the various oil suppliers. However, since the traffic flow is way down, it may not make any difference what the price falls to.

Toady, we have no plans other than to stay away from other people and do some indoor kind of things. I am hoping to read more, make some vegan Italian meatballs, and read yesterday's edition of the Grand Haven Tribune. When you have plenty of time on your hands, being behind one day is no biggie.

Mary will help with the crossword and help to keep us as healthy as possible. Too bad that our Federal officials aren't as helpful with regard to the pandemic. Ciao.
