Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and
across the world. It is just after 4:00 a.m. in "The City."
The current temperature is 37° under partly-cloudy skies, with winds of seven mph that make it feel more like 29°. Today's high
is
forecast to be that same 37°. By tomorrow, we expect to see 41°, still under
those partly-cloudy skies. The 30° temperatures won't be permanently
in our rear-view mirror for a while. We should see
temperatures consistently in the 40s by the middle of next week.
The sun will rise today @ 7:18 a.m. and set later @ 6:36 p.m.
Veteran LHP Jon Lester had a solid game on Sunday, as the 4 - 5 Cubs defeated the 3 - 6 Mariners, 7 - 3. Lester said he feels great about how his pitches were moving. Today's game features RHP Kyle Hendricks against the 4 - 5 LA Angels @ 3:05 p.m. EST.
My beloved 4 - 5 Red Sox handled the 3 - 6 Braves yesterday, 4 - 2. LHP Chris Sale threw batting practice on the sidelines and after 15 pitches, he said he felt great. The catcher said that Sale had good movement on his pitches. It has been 6 1/2 months since Sale was shut down last season due to elbow soreness. Today's game is against the 4 - 4 Tigers @ 1:05 p.m. EST, when RHP James Ryan Weber takes the mound for the Sox and Dan Norris takes the hill for the Tigers.
Speaking of the 4 - 4 Tigers, they manhandled the Yankees yesterday with a solid 10 - 4 win. As noted above, the Tigers and the Red Sox square off today @ 1:05 p.m. EST.
I received a Lowell. MA quarter in change yesterday to add to my collection of America the Beautiful
quarters. This is the first 2019 quarter that I have been able to add to that collection and it had a "P" on it, meaning it was minted at the Philadelphia US Mint. Along with the "D" mint marking for the other 2019 MA quarter, I have a lot more to go.
I spent some time in the kitchen yesterday making vegan banana bread and Italian meatballs. Both turned out great.
I also spent some time working on my music, writing an additional verse for a Christy Moore song that I felt needed one. Just one man's opinion, but I feel I was successful in blending my efforts with those of Christy Moore. I'll let Mary decide later today if she thinks I did the right thing.
We went walkabout with the fur-children yesterday and they were most appreciative. We dropped them off and then headed to the library where Mary spent some time in the local genealogy department researching a former owner/inhabitant of the manse. Mary is making good progress as she uncovers new and little-known facts about this lady. I checked out several new novels as I waited.
Otherwise, this should be a day where not much is happening. I like it that way. All in all that's good, as tomorrow I have a full schedule with Coffee and Coloring at the library, a haircut, and a stop for injection number four to my knees at the orthopedist. Ciao
