Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 6:00 a.m. in "The City."
Had a great day yesterday. I got out on my bike, rode about five miles, and then came home to walk STWD for the second time. She has been needy since the 4th of July fireworks, and I can't blame her. While I was away, Mary and Ginger took a long walkabout through our fair city and that allowed Ginger to enjoy all sorts of new sights and smells, so to speak. It also allowed Mary to take some additional photos too, many of which I'll include now, in no particular order. I'll also include some that she took on our return walk from the favorite watering hole. In addition, I've added some earlier pictures too. Why? Because I can.

This one was taken in our own vast gardens with her macro lens. |
|
This one too, I believe. |
|
As she and Ginger passed through Central Park on their way downtown. |
|
Here too. |
|
And here too, I believe. |

On our return walk through Central Park from the favorite watering hole. |
|
I just liked this one because of the angle. |
|
An earlier picture, but the same result for Ginger of a long walk. |
|
Said favorite watering hole, from an earlier sojourn |
|
Why not? |
|
Vestiges of not so long ago, when it wasn't so hot in W. MI. |
|
The Vast Gardens were hidden under the snow as recently as February. |

Just because STWD is the "Cutest Dog on the Planet!" |
I hope that you remembered to click on a picture that you'd like to see in a larger form.
Baseball news yesterday was 3/4 good. The losing, 49 - 36 in the NL Central, 2nd place by 2.5 games to the Brewers, who won their game over the 49 - 40 Braves, Cubs, once again fell to a lesser team, the 39 - 49 Cincinnati Reds, 2 - 3. The Cubs once again failed to give any run support to their starting pitcher, Mike Montgomery, and that spelled trouble with a capital T. Any way you slice it, the Cubs should not be losing games like this one. The Cubs and the Reds play again today @ 2:20 p.m. EDT.
My beloved Red Sox, now 60 - 29 and in 1st place in the AL East by 2.0 games over the 2nd place Yankees, who lost to the 41 - 46, Blue Jays, won their game over the 25 - 62, last place in the AL West Royals, 10 - 5. Starting and winning pitcher, Chris Sale, recorded 12 Ks en route to the win as Mookie Betts got the 100th home run of his young career. The Sox and the Royals play again tonight @ 7:15 p.m. EDT.
The 39 - 51, 3rd place in the AL Central Tigers, also won their game over the 39 - 50, 5th place in the AL West Rangers, 3 - 1. The Tigers are not a good baseball team this year, but they managed to beat an even worse team, the Rangers. The Tigers and the Rangers play again today in Comerica Park @ 4:10 p.m. EDT.
The 45 - 41, in the MWL East, resurgent Caps, defeated the 35 - 51, 8th place in the MWL East, Lake County, OH Captains, 6 - 2. The Caps are still trying. Those two teams play again tonight @ 7:00 p.m.
Today, I'll water the vast lawns and gardens of the PE and then walk STWD to
The Bookman, for her morning treat. While there, I'll pick up the weekend edition of the
Grand Haven Tribune, and then head home to finish the highlighting for the latest index. I will then settle in to watch some baseball as Mary does the actual work on the index. I may, or may not get into the kitchen too.
The sun rose this morning @ 6:12 a.m. EDT, and will set later tonight @ 9:26 p.m. EDT. I've already accomplished many of my daily tasks. The vast gardens and lawns are watered and I've taken my RDA allowance of vitamins and minerals. Ciao.
