Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 1:00 a.m. in "The City."
I was outside with the fur-children around 12:15 a.m. and I have to agree with the NWS, the skies are indeed clear and the temperature is as advertised, 65°. Later today, after the sun rises @ 6:10 a..m. and long before it sets @ 9:27 p.m., the NWS is forecasting a much higher temperature than yesterday as it reaches a zenith of 85°, also under clear skies.

Yesterday was so much different than the day before, that Mary and I decided to walk with Ginger to the waterfront. In spite of the fact that I had already been to the barber, the library, and The Bookman, I felt as though I had it in me.

We started out with the intention to see the new Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium up close and personal. We were not disappointed. The new facility lived up to the hype. I took a few photos while we were there just to give my readers a sense of what we had seen.

FYI, Ms. Sherwood was born in GH and matriculated at Grand Haven High School, Stanford University, where she graduated with honors, and later attended the Harvard School of Business, where she earned an MBA. She worked for 35 years at Goldman, Sachs, rising to the level of vice-president. She returned to the Tri-Cities area to work with the JSJ Corporation, a business that had been founded, in part, by members of her family. Her philanthropy has endowed many fine projects throughout the area. We also took pictures of the stadium itself and several of the boat-filled channel that runs directly behind. I've included those here too.

Looking north, towards the BLP Sims power plant.

The BLP Sims plan is in the background.
Dewy Hill is very clear from the stadium.
The channel was filled with boaters enjoying the holiday week in GH.
Yes, that is our favorite watering hole, the "Worl Famous Tip-a-Few Tavern in the background.
Even Ginger was worn down after the walk. STWD was willing to go, but we knew that she couldn't make it.
Baseball news yesterday was limited, as both the Cubs and the Tigers were enjoying an off day before beginning their series in Wrigley Field today @ 2:20 p.m. EDT.

My beloved, 57 - 29, 1st place in the AL East Red Sox, defeated the 42 - 41, 3rd in the NL East Nationals last night, by the slim margin of 4 - 3. That gives the Sox a one-game lead over the 2nd place Yankees. The Sox and the Nationals play again tonight @ 6:05 p.m. EDT.

The rapidly fading, 41 - 41 in the MWL East, West Michigan White Caps, AKA the Caps, were dropped by the division leading, 53 - 29, Lansing Lug Nuts last night, 0 - 4. They try again tonight @ 7:05 p.m. EDT.

In addition to our afternoon walk, we registered for several classes at The Camera Store that will be held later this month. John was here yesterday to paint the master bathroom and return the furniture and planter to the deck.

Today, we will be staying inside and doing some serious work on the current indexing project. I will be watering the gardens and walking the fur-children too. Ciao.
