Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 2:30 a.m. in "The City."

In an odd twist, Mary let me sleep in my La-Z-Boy in the media room while she went to bed with the fur-children. I guess that in this case, that may be unusual, but when you've had a busy day, like I did yesterday and follow that up with a glass of wine after dinner @ our favorite watering hole, the end result was predictable.

At any rate, in spite of my long-winded opening, I am still going to endeavor to keep this blog short.

I awoke to see that the 51 - 37 Cubs were tied with the 48 - 45 Giants. I stayed awake long enough to watch the Cubs lose in 11 innings, 1 - 2. I had recently told Mary that starting pitcher, Kyle Hendricks, would soon be on the DL with a sore arm, but I was wrong. In fact, he pitched a gem of a game and it was his relief that gave up the winning run. The Cubs and the Giants play again tonight @ 10:15 p.m. EDT.

My beloved, 63 - 29 Red Sox, topped the 40 - 52 TX Rangers, 5 - 0. They remain in 1st place by two games over the Yankees in the AL East. The Sox and the Rangers play again tonight @ 7:10 p.m. EDT.

The 40 - 52 Tigers once again managed to lose, this time to the 46 - 44 Tampa Bay Rays, 9 - 10. What can I say, the Tigers just aren't going to be good this year and maybe not next year either. The Tigers and the Rays play again tonight @ 7:10 p.m.

The 45 - 44 Caps didn't fare any better than their parent team, the Tigers, as the Caps fell to the 38 - 51 Lake County Captains, 6 - 10. Fortunately, the Caps have today off to regroup before they return to the Fifth/Third Ballpark on Wednesday to open a home series against the 38 - 49, Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, @ 7:05 p.m. EDT.

Elsewhere, I worked hard on the vast estate yesterday. I also did those aforementioned indoor chores. Mary was slaving over a hot keyboard as she entered the data for the latest index. In addition, I walked STWD twice, and Ginger once, as Mary was otherwise occupied. Mary says that we will be editing on Wednesday, the day the index is due.

Once Mary was finished for the day, we traveled to Muskegon to check out the possible replacement carpet. We brought home a couple of samples to color test them against the wall colors. I think we have the choices narrowed down. Since we were out, we stopped in at the favorite watering hole and then headed home to feed the impatiently waiting fur-children.

Today, I plan to read more of another novel, walk with STWD to The Bookman, and then settle in to do as little as possible. I have to water the new grass today, but that is it until tomorrow, when I have to water everything on the PE, since no significant rainfall is in the forecast until at least Saturday.

We have a current temperature of 75° as we drop to the forecast overnight low of 68°. Later today, the NWS is forecasting a high of 82° under sunny skies with only 62% relative humidity. The sun will rise today @ 6:15 a.m. and set later tonight @ 9:25 p.m. Ciao.
