A current overnight temperature of 71° will lead to today's much more comfortable high of 74° under sunny skies with only 60% relative humidity. That's about 6° lower than yesterday and should make my outdoor tasks and other activities easier to accomplish. In fact, we'll be walking the fur-children over to the groomers so that they can both get groomed. Shhh, don't tell either of them.
Ginger is looking like all terrier breeds do when they haven't been groomed for several weeks, her face is disappearing and she just looks like Disney's Shaggy Dog, not the Tim Allen version, but the one with Tommy Kirk in the lead role. The late Fred MacMurray also had a starring role in that film. Since I like to include clips from YouTube™, I've once again done just that. While the dog in the movie is much larger, his appearance is a lot like Ginger when she hasn't been groomed for a while. That's one thing that any shelter doesn't tell you when you adopt a terrier breed, no shedding is a good thing, but when they don't get groomed, they look like a walking dust mop. But hey, you love them anyway.

But once again, I digress, The sun will rise today @ 6:20 a.m. and set later tonight @ 9:21 p.m. In addition, the NWS is still forecasting an 80% chance of T-storms on Friday, but the forecast for Saturday has been lowered to only a 40% chance of a.m. T-storms.
Not much to report in baseball news. The Home-Run Derby™ was held last night and ultimately won by Bryce Harper, of the Washington Nationals with 19 home-runs in the final round, just edging out the Cubs' Kyle Schwarber who hit 18. Schwarber's longest traveled 453', while Harper's 19th and winning home-run, traveled 473' to win the derby.
Just a side note on life in general. Yesterday was Prime Day for the on-line E-tailer, Amazon, and that single day made the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world with a net worth that exceeds $150 billion! I guess that this country is all about convenience.
After STWD and I walked to The Bookman for the Monday edition of the Grand Haven Tribune, I stayed home and did some work around the PE while Mary and Ginger went much farther. Along the way, they took some very nice photos. I'll include some here in no particular order.
Looking south from the nearby Lynn Sherwood Waterfront Stadium. |
The children love playing in the Splash Pad near the stadium. |
The marina on the waterfront. |
The nearby Charter Boat Row, where fishing boats that ply the waters of the "Big Lake" with fishermen and fisher-women, are moored. |
Nothing to do with their walkabout, just a shot of the delicious vegan taco salad that Mary made for dinner. |
Today, I have to water the vast lawns and gardens since yesterday's forecast for rain didn't materialize. Plus, I have some indoor chores to accomplish in the Man-Cave. We will be walking the fur-children to the groomers as previously noted and then picking them up later in the car. Since the weather is supposed to be pleasant, I may hit the road on my bike too.
Mary will be doing that voodoo, that she do so well. Ciao.
