Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 7:30 a.m. in "The City."

Let's pretend that it is the middle of the night and everything is as it should be. I spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen yesterday as Mary was hard at work in her craft room. I was making vegan sausages along with Italian meatballs, while she was making that long-awaited sink-skirt for the mud room. We were both successful. The sausages came out great, as did the Italian meatballs, and the sink-shirt looks and fits great. A genuine twofer.

We took a short walk with the fur-children in hopes of avoiding the rain/T-storms that had been forecast by the NWS. Sadly, very little of that much needed and ballyhooed rain fell until much later and even then, it barely rained, maybe just enough to avoid watering for one day. The current forecast calls for more rain/T-storms throughout the day today, but right now, all we have are cloudy skies.

The sun rose this morning @ 6:24 a.m. and will set tonight @ 9:17 p.m. In between, I am off to my monthly Irish Jam Session.

Steph and Adam Jeeped in yesterday and the fur-children were glad to see them. Even the usually skittish STWD was happy to see her old walking partner Steph. The venerable weather dog is getting more selective about how much attention to devote to humans as she ages. Me too.

The intrepid weather dog's sister, Ginger, and I train-spotted yesterday and espied the southbound run of MMRR locomotive #2025 heading down the RSTL tracks @ 8:47 a.m. towing 16 CHCs. Later, in the early afternoon, we saw that same locomotive heading north towing 15 CHCs.

Surprisingly, or maybe not, the landscapers came yesterday and got the parkway project started. They should be finishing up on Monday or Tuesday.

Baseball news yesterday was not very good, The still 1st place by 3 games over the losing Brewers,  Cubs, were totally outplayed by the visiting 3rd place Cardinals in a match-up of NL Central rivals.. The final score of 5 - 18 could have been closer, or worse, but starting and losing pitcher Jon Lester, couldn't get anybody out and neither could his relief corps. Baseballs were flying out of the park and all over the field for the Cardinals, but the Cubs couldn't get their bats on the ball. Oh well, there is always today @ 1:05 p.m. while I am at my jam session.

The 41 - 58, 3rd place in the AL Central Tigers actually played well against the visiting 1st place in the AL East, 69 - 30 Red Sox, allowing the Sox to score only one run. Sadly, that one run was more than the Tigers could put on the board and the Tigers fell, 0 - 1. Another chance comes tonight @ 6:10 p.m.

Mercifully, the 7th place, 12 - 15 in the MWL East, West Michigan White Caps, AKA, The Caps, were rained out in their game against the 5th place, 13 - 14 in the MWL West, Quad Cities River Bandits. I guess that the rain we were expecting here in GH found its way to Grand Rapids. The Caps and the River Bandits try againtonoght @ 7:35 p.m.

Our entire human family went out to dinner last evening to Don Luis' Mexican Restaurant. Mary and I had vegetarian fare while Steph and Adam were more traditional. We all enjoyed our meals and would recommend Don Luis' to anyone.

Today, I won't have to water, but somehow, we will have to get the fur-children out for a walk. Adam, Steph, and Mary will be doing whatever they want while I am jamming. I have no other plans than that for today. Ciao.
