Sunday will see the temperatures warming into the 80° plus range with Monday's July 4th holiday forecast to reach a high of 84° with a 49% chance for T-storms/showers during the afternoon.
Baseball will be easy this morning, as the 31 - 46 Cubs eked out a 6 - 5 win over the 43 - 34 Red Sox, with rookie LHPBrandon Hughes, 1 - 0 noticing his first MLB win for the Cubs. Hughes is 26 years of age and is a native Michigander who was drafted by the Cubs in 2017.
Tonight's game begins @ 7:15 p.m. with RHP Alec Mills pitching for the Cubs and RHP Josh Winckowski pitching for the beloved.
The Tigers activated RHP Michael Pineda from the IL and sent RHP Alex Faedo to the Triple-A Toledo Mudhens. Faedo will be returning to the big club, but the Tigers are being careful with the 26-year-old pitcher who is just 18 months out from Tommy John surgery. The 29 - 46 Tigers fell to the 28 - 47 Royals, 1 - 3 last night. Those two teams play again today @ 4:10 p.m. with rookie RHP Beau Brieske, 1 - 6 on the mound for the Tigers.
The 36 - 37 Caps are just one game away from going even with the Midwest League East Division @ 36 - 37 as they won last night's game over the 28 - 45 Ft. Wayne TinCaps, 4 - 0. Tonight @ 6:35 p.m., the Caps will try to make that move.
Otherwise, yesterday was an uneventful day. Mary and Ginger went walkabout, I walked with STWD, and we ear-read and print read, and worked more crossword puzzles.
In addition, Mary finished her latest cross-stitch project and started another. She did the meal preparation and I made more vegan Italian burgers and meatballs.
Today is a day for more watering in the vast gardens and perhaps the auxiliary gardens too along with indoor chores. Ciao.
