The sun will rise into mostly sunny skies later this morning @ 6:10 a.m. and set later @ 9:27 p.m. Yes, my friends, the days are getting shorter as the summer moves towards fall.
Monday's high temperature will be 82° with an overnight low of 70° and there is a 32% chance for showers in that forecast. So, those people who are willing to brave the elements have a slight chance of the Fourth of July Fireworks show being rained out.
Baseball news yesterday/last night was interesting, to say the least.
The 32 - 46 Cubs were forced to once again insert a relief pitcher when starting RHP, Alec Mills, experienced back pains after only seven pitches and he was relieved by Marc Leiter jr., who pitched very well for the northsiders in a 3 - 1 win over the 43 - 35 Red Sox.
Today's game at 2:20 p.m. features the stylings of RHP Keegan Thompson, 7 - 3, for the Cubs, and a pitcher TBD for the Red Sox.
The 30 - 46 Tigers needed a home run off the bat of rookie CF Riley Greene, his first MLB home run, to win one over the 28 - 48 Royals, 4 - 3. The Tigers and the Royals play again this afternoon @ 12:05 p.m.
Finally, the 36 - 38 Caps blew their chance to go even with the Midwest League East Division, when they fell to the 20 - 45 Ft. Wayne, IN TinCaps, 2 - 4. Tonight's game commences @ 6:00 p.m.
We accomplished our indoor chores, watered all of our gardens, and did more ear and print reading. Mary finished one crosss-stitch project and started another. She is still in search of just the right frame for her efforts.
I put more paint on canvas and that was about it for me.
Today, I hope to watch the NASCAR race from Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. While I'm not a big fan of NASCAR, I will enjoy seeing the sights of Road America.
Otherwise, not much is planned for today. Ciao.
