Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be, across the nation and across the world. It is just past 4:00 p.m. in "The City."

Our current temperature is a comfortable 74° that feels like 74° under partly-cloudy skies, with a wind out of the west @ nine mph.

We had over 1 1/4 inches of rain last night, and our vast and auxiliary gardens are very thankful, as is yours truly. Tonight's low-temperature forecast from the NWS calls for 68° before tomorrow's high temperature reaches a much less comfortable high of 82° under partly-cloudy skies. There is a 24% chance for showers again tomorrow evening and perhaps Thursday.

The sun rose today @ 6:11 a.m. and it will set tonight @ 9:27 p.m.

Baseball yesterday was great if you are a fan of the Tigers, the Red Sox, or the White Caps.

However, for Cubs fans, it took 10 innings for the 32 - 48 Cubs to find another way to lose, this time to the 47 - 35 Brewers, but lose they did, in spite of a rare inside-the-park home run by Seiya Suzuki, newly returned from the IL.

The Cubs play the Brewers again tonight with RHP Kyle Hendricks, 4 - 5, on the mound for the Cubs.

The 45 - 35 Red Sox cruised to a  4 - 0 win over the 43 - 37 Tampa Bay Rays yesterday. Tonight, the Sox and the Rays go at it again, with RHP Nick Pivetta, 8 - 5, on the bump for the Sox.

The 32 - 47 Tigers took two from the 40 - 38 Cleveland Guardians yesterday, winning game one, 4 - 0, and game two, 5 - 3. The Tigers are in Cleveland again tonight @ 7:10 p.m. with RHP Drew Hutchison, 0 - 4, starting for the Tigers.

Finally, the 38 - 38 West Michigan White Caps hammered the 42 - 33 Dayton Dragons yesterday in Dayton, 20 - 1. The Caps have the day off today before returning to the field on Wednesday night to face the Dragons @ 7:05 p.m.

While I haven't been out and about with my camera lately, Mary and Ginger took advantage of the comfortable temperatures Sunday morning to walk over to Linear Park for some exercise and a photo op. Here are some of the pix from their safari.

All that's left of the former Grand Haven Tribune building.

Mary and Ginger gave these geese a wide berth to avoid any conflicts.

The numerous geese in this gaggle are parents and this year's goslings, nearly full-grown.

A man I used to work with would say, "MRDUCKS."

Some boaters were getting an early start.

As always, Dewey Hill is very photogenic.

Otherwise, things around the manse and the palatial estate were quiet. We are still ear and print reading, and Mary is still cross-stitching. I enjoyed my Sunday night session of Simple Songs for Ukulele and finished a novel last night. We watched part of the fireworks from Mary's office window too.

All in all, things around here are quiet, but that's what retirement is supposed to be like. Ciao.
