Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 12:00 a.m. in "The City."

Yesterday was a good day for trainspotting. However, locomotive #2019 was soloing on both the south and northbound runs. I guess #2057 was busy elsewhere on the Mid-Michigan Railroad System. You may recall that the Mid-Michigan Railroad is a shortline railroad that hauls freight from points as far north as Manistee to just below Holland. In addition, the Mid-Michigan also serves Newaygo, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Norton Shores. Typically, the freight that is carried consists of grains, lumber, chemicals, and other types of cargo unknown to me.

At any rate, I digress. At 11:25 a.m., locomotive #2019 was heading south in front of two CHCs, six DBTCs three DWTCs, and one BC that was bringing up the rear. Later, @ 2:55 p.m., that same locomotive made its way north towing one CHC, six DBTCs, with one DWTC at the end of the train. I guess that's why there was only one locomotive necessary to move that small number of cars, even with their loaded state on the northbound transit on the RSTL.

Mary and I walked together with STWD and GTWD to pick up the Grand Haven Tribune at a newspaper box near the post office on the morning safari. As always, Ginger was full of energy and even the intrepid one seemed to be more energetic. I have heard that a younger dog is good for an older dog and that seems to be true.

We came home and I prepared lunch. I have been wanting to make a stir-fry for a while and so I was left alone in the kitchen to satisfy my desire. I cooked the rice and then I fried the mushrooms, carrots, celery, onions and some of the extraordinary beest that Mary made the other day. I also made some cinnamon and sugar roasted almonds and some baked tofu cubes. Naturally, STSD was there for assistance if any was needed. Ginger was there too, but she has yet to learn how to be a good kitchen assistant. Mary was upstairs working on an index and I called her down when I had everything ready to serve.

She says that this was my best effort to date. It was very tasty and very filling too. I cleaned up after lunch and then sat down to do the crossword from the newspaper once I had taken the trash to the curb.

The weather started to go south around 5:00 p.m. yesterday. We had, and continue to have, rain and sleet falling on the PE. The current temperature is 42° under cloudy skies that are delivering that rain/sleet combination, Tomorrow, the precipitation will continue according to the NWS with a 50% chance of precipitation and windy conditions with winds @ 20 MPH. I guess that winter has finally decided to visit.

I did get to work on my music and play with the girls. However, my playtime was short lived as it was too dark in my office to see the music. I have to retype the index for the book that I rearranged yesterday. Otherwise, that's about all I have plans to accomplish after the morning safaris. Mary will continue to work on her indexing project and I will do some additional highlighting for the next book.

The sun will rise today @ 7:57 a.m. and set @ 5:10 p.m. Ciao.
