Good morning or good evening, wherever you may be. It is just past 1:00 a.m. in "The City."

The weather is on my mind this morning because the current temperature is 42° under cloudy skies. That's the high for today, as we backslide towards the NWS prediction for a high later today of 39° under those same cloudy skies. As of now, the NWS is forecasting a 70% chance of rain/snow for Sunday, and the forecast also calls for a 90% chance of more precipitation on Tuesday.

Yesterday was a day for staying inside as much as possible. I got more reading done and I also was able to spend some quality chair time with both of the fur-children. I was napping in the La-Z-Boy when Mary and GTWD came down the stairs and I was forced to wake up by a leaping wonder dog who didn't seem to notice.

I finally covered the outdoor air conditioning unit for the season. I wouldn't have noticed except that Mary asked if I had done it and that made me look. Oh well, it is now done. I have to rearrange the various pots on the back patio so protect them during the freezing weather that is sure to come our way. Mostly that involves moving them closer together and then covering them with a tarp. That shouldn't take long.

I may do some baking of my world famous banana nut bread today as I noticed that the bananas in the kitchen are getting to the desired state of ripeness for that endeavor. Naturally, STSD will be ready to provide assistance to my activities. GTSD has yet to get past her apprenticeship, and so she has been unable to provide much in the way of assistance. Oh well, her loss, Sugar's gain.

I have read further in my latest nonfiction book, The Return of George Washington, by Edward J. Larson. Larson has focused on the period between the end of the Revolutionary War and the election of Washington to the presidency. So far it is an interesting read. Like all of the "Founding Fathers, Washington had his warts and demons, but he ultimately lent his reputation and prestige to the creation of the United States.

I am still working on highlighting of the latest indexing project. So far, I have offered few comments in the margins because the book has not fascinated me in the way that previous tomes have done. Hopefully, it will become more interesting.

Otherwise, not much is on tap for today. I do plan to set up our Christmas tree and place all of the ornaments, both old and new, on the tree. I like the season and so I plan to enjoy it as much as possible. Mary is working on our tree skirt, but it is a tedious process that involves Crosstitch, nee Needlepoint, that takes time that she doesn't have in abundance right now. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon.

The sun will rise @ 7:58 a.m. and set @ 5:10 p.m. Ciao.
